Longer it goes the less I'm bothered, he's 33 soon it's not like we are waiting on the next Rooney to sign it's getting a player with a bug risk he could do an Allan and his legs go overnight.

A free on 70k pw for two seasons it's worth the risk.

If we end up paying a fee walk away and go sign Garner instead (different roles but both deals add a midfielder we need, he'll Garner would actually allow a shift to a 3 mid furmstion easier too.

The most boring and pointless transfer saga ever. A player we don't need as a priority and a player PSG absolutely do not want to keep, and a stand off over who gives the player their final pay day

Remind me why on earth we are pursuing this deal?

Seems expectations from many in here are off.

Gueye for PSG has not been a success story. He has had a handful of great matches, several of them high profile CL matches, but overall he has never lived up to what PSG hoped for and paid top dollar for.

He won AFCON with Senegal earlier this year, but he was not a standout player. Mendy was. The midfielder Leicester chose to not register for Premier League play 12 months ago. He was selected for team of the tournament. The same was Elneny. Not Gueye.

As a squad player I am sure Gueye can do a job, but we are likely to sign a worse player than what we sold three years ago. Meanwhile the league has become significantly stronger these three years.

Red flags. Everywhere. The price must be right.
He may be a worse player than three years ago. The league may be stronger than three years ago.

However, we are without doubt much worse than three years ago. He improves us. The one part I agree with is "The price must be right"

After 47 years of tough negotiations Everton confirm the signing of Idrissa Gueye. Bill Kenwright is delighted to get his man and added Idrissa will be a key player in lifting the club from the Conference League.......

Where have you got this info from? PSG fans I know would disagree completely with that statement.
He played most of the matches his first season in Paris (a season that was not finished because of Covid). Since then he has started less than half the league matches. He got fewer minutes for PSG than Moise Kean the 20/21 season. 18 months ago PSG tried to get rid of him, agreed a loan to Newcastle, but he refused to move.
