I liked it better when we had no money

..we were great when we were the Merseyside Millionaire’s. Now we’re the Merseyside Billionaire’s. It’s better being rich but the trick is to spend your money well.
That team the Mersey millionaires had a hell of home grown players in it in 1970 plus youth players, the 1980,s team had bargain basement players who where class!

When we had less money we certainly got better value under David Moyes.
However, David Moyes was probably least successful when he actually had money to spend with Kroldrup and Bilyaletdinov.

I do believe that with a really good manager that some of our underperforming players will prove to be good value.

Imagine a player like Cahill in the Everton squad now - a proper player and grafter and full of spirit. We don't have anyone like that now.

Moyes had his tactical limitations, but most of his signings were excellent, and I think it helped him being financially restrained.

Having said that, the Premier League is totally different now. There is just so much money in the game that we would be struggling even more if we didn't have this cash injection.

Seamus Coleman fits all of the criteria quoted above!

As soon as we got money the expectations went up massively, despite us being miles away from the top 4 people actually expect us to be up there now.
