This forum is frustrating the hell out of me at the moment. People get bored so they speculate on things that havent happened and probably wont happen.

Some people in this thread have made very good points and I applaud Sharpy, Phil and Ghost. The right players are the players that our Manager wants, you only have to look at when Tevez and mascapone joined West Ham to see what a bad influence the wrong players can do to a side.

I would much rather us spend say £15m on 3 or 4 players in the £3m- £6m bracket that Moyes can improve and bring on to become goo prem players than spend £18m on some super star who will probably [Poor language removed] us off as soon as one of the top European sides are mooted with an interest.

I watched that video that was posted in the blue room yesterday and being truly Everton is something you cant buy- its something that is instilled into players. Moyes instills it- you can see it in players like, Neville, Lescott, Cahill, Yobo, Pienaar, AJ and Arteta. You can see that they love the club you show loyalty and that is something Moyes sees in players and brings them into the Everton family.

I hate all this doom and gloom- we have got the best squad since the 80's we finished 5th last season and had a good cup run, we are in Europe again this season with a fully fit squad including Cahill to come back, Vaughny and Baines. Moyes is about to sign of that I am sure and the signings will start soon.

Its been a quiet transfer window for all clubs apart from Fulham (haha some of the players they have signed!!!) We will get the right players in, we'll get EVerton players in and the players our manager wants!

Well my point still applies.

It was only a figure of speech really ghost. You know, just to make the point that it doesnt matter what you spend. As long as the right players for everton are brought in.

1m or 100m...........we wont spend either, im making a point. But you knew that anyway!!

ffs.

Yeah I know mate. I was talking about what I said after that:

Personally I would prefer to take 5th spot for the next 3 or 4 years, slowly add to the squad and bring through the obvious talent we have in our academy.

wasn't that others saying he was a racist ?
it's like me saying i dont like south africans, i dont ......that doesnt make me racist, i just dont like 'em...especially the white ones, in fact only the white ones. as the old spitting image song went"i've never met a nice south african", and thats why i don't like them, they are arrogant, obnoxious and ignorant, thats why i dont like 'em. one had the tennacity to refer to me as a pommie whilst travelling, i told him in no uncertain terms that it wasn't acceptable to be called anything derogatory by a south african. does that make me racist ?
kingjoleon isnt racist.

Racist is the wrong word to use because its not an issue of race, its an issue of nationality.

Just as stupid and ignorant to tar an entire nation of people with the same brush as it is an entire race though due to the actions of a minority.

Dislike the ones you have met all you want, no one will have a problem with that. But when you generalise and stereotype everyone thats when people are going to take issue.

I used to work with a white South African guy and he was the complete oppisite of the bold part of your quote, he was a really nice guy, which proves your belief wrong.

i was good friends with a white south african girl in seoul a couple of years ago. she was beautiful, clever, and had a humble understanding of her nation's past.

the absolute opposite of what reidy's bottle of grecian's idea of what a south african is like.

nothing boils my blood more than someone booming in, claiming they hate an entire race or culture based on one experience.

surely by doing this you are displaying the very negative qualities that you so opposed in the onset of your post.

and for the record, yes, i find reidy's bottle of grecian's post out of order. especially as we share this forum with people from all cultures and races.

That we don't spend more then 12-15 million net.

What an absolute fuc*ing joke our board is.

Bring up this thread on August the 31st.

We are a disgrace to such a brilliant manager.

Don't you think the board are worried about the economic climate right now and simply don't want to rush into purchasing anyone until we absolutely know where we need to strenthen.

Yes its OK saying we need a GK, DM, RB, Striker but with the squad we have, players can fill certain roles and until their fitness is fully acessed then any funds we do have will have to go on the more prioritised position that Moysey feels is needed to start the season.
eg. If Neville breaks his leg in preseason then we know we need a Defensive Midfield/ Right Back player more than we need a new Striker.

Also, if our funds are shorter than Moyes predicted, will he want to go for 4-5 squad players or 1-2 world class players? There is a lot of 'thinking' needing to be done and I for one am excited by the fact that other clubs around us also seem to be biding their time in the transfer market.

i think cal has a point, i don't think we can crack the top 4, spending 15 mill or less each year over the next couple of years, considering these days thats only 1 quality player. I can understand his frustration. I think what is causing the tension for some is the feeling maybe even Moyes is getting frustrated with his lack of funds. Hopefully he signs another 5 year contract, and we continue to build slowly and combine a decent transfer strategy with bringing through some talented youngsters and maybe at the end of that contract we will be regulars in the CL(y)

Have they done that? Or have they broke the clubs transfer record 3 times in 4 years, got the team into europe and brought 1 of the brightest young managers in the game to the club
Could not agree with this post more, it's spot on. Last week i had very differant opinions to those of HalewoodBlue but this post is spot on. Where and when we can the board does support the manager and like i have said in previous post since this board took over the club has gone in the right direction. And with moyes we will get the right players whether that be £10million or £20 million. It is what you call building a team which is what moyes is doing. My only critisim of the board is the dragging on of moyes contract, however no one can say this board has not been good for the club because it has. Like was said in a previous post the club is still paying the price for debts left by previous managers overspending and wasteing money on second rate players.

Yep, because every championship player has the quality to compete at the highest level.

joleon lescott

And Tim Cahill yes.

We know this. But not every player who is worth around 2 million has the quality to step up and compete in Europe and the Premiership.

Anyways, this is Everton, a club who finished 5th in the league and had a great UEFA cup run, unlucky to go out. Why should we continue buying lower league players, surely a club who has finished 5th wants to step up and buy the best?
