Davie will get what he needs and we will improve, if its 15 mill, well i wouldnt be too dissapointed, obviously everyone would like more, but i am one of those who has faith in our young players and feel its vital they improve. If he wasnt getting a big transfer chest, the club and he would be sending out warning shots like they have in the past.

I personaly beleive Moyes will have more then Cal mentioned, but even if he doesnt @ 15 mill two seasons ago he signed AJ and Lescott and Howard, look at how they improved us as a team, went from top ten to top six, three players with an equal contribution at this stage of development could easily push us close to top four. Its not like wholesale changes are needed.

I think if Moyes felt it was the right thing to do to bring in the youngsters and finish in the top ten was the right thing to do for the future, i would support him in it, for me hes earned that respect and trust. Utd and Arsenal have done it recent seasons.

No i'm not saying that. I'm just saying we need more then 15 million net profit every summer for us to push on.

We cannot keep selling players of value all the time to produce funds for the manager.

The gaffer can't keep producing miracles on a shoestring budget.

I'm sorry, but who have we sold that we haven't benefited from the sale of?

Kilbane? Davies? Beattie? McFadden?

All total misses for the club.

Honest to god, I've heard some crap in my time.

Don't get me wrong the board are out of order on the stadium issue, but don't give a [Poor language removed] where I watch Everton play. They can however be applauded for who we have on the pitch. Regardless of debt, or selling the family silver. Couldn't give a hoot. Would rather see a club in Europe and top 5 every season than relegation fodder like we saw in the 90's.

It may also worth you noting Cal that football is a business. Profit and Loss, we seem to have made profit on players - Bent? McFadden? Rooney? We also have invested in some youth talent, which was on display in Switzerland recently. You really need to cheer up and look at the big picture , instead of whinging that we're not going to spend £17m on players like David Bentley. [Poor language removed] good, why pay £17m for him, when we got Arteta for £3m? I would rather play with a shoestring budget if that is the kind of player our manager and board can get for us.

Why not be grateful instead of a moaning brat?

I want signings. Give them to me. Now. I need them!!!!! I dont even care who it is as long as there foreign and there name sounds exotic.(y)

Personally i almost prefer we only have 15-18mil. I think id rather get in a few 5/6mil players. Fernandes is reportedly 6m. Someone the other day was saying we needed to get in arteta/lescott/yak calibre players. Well Arteta was 2 or 3 mil, lescott 5 or 6. Why can't we do the same again? Id much rather get in someone good but underated than some one good but expensive and overated, but everyone will celebrate like the next coming because he cost 15mil :(

Exactly. Let Liverpool waste £18m on Barry (a player who has one contract in him). Or Villa on Bentley for £17m.

Who else? Sure the Geordies dropped a few shilling on average egotistic players. City were going to spend £24m on someone who hasn't played well for nearly 2 seasons.

I dont care how much we spend or how mush each player costs.

It's all about getting the right players in. wether it's 5m or 35m.

Yeah your right. But which player is going to be right for £35m? I would say there is only 4 or 5 clubs in the world who can afford that kind of fee.

Personally I would prefer to take 5th spot for the next 3 or 4 years, slowly add to the squad and bring through the obvious talent we have in our academy.

Sorry mate i ment collectivly.

Agreed.

You'd like a bit of time to get the new signings to gel with the team and get an adequate amount of preseason in if at all possible.
100% agree with you why the hell we cant get one or two in for full pre season is beyond me,unless of course things are a bit shaky money wise.

first im worried , im worried about the size of the squad and im also worried about the silence on transfers.im worried what will happen if kirkby fails/GETS called in and im also worried that if it doesnt fail that it turns out to be A bog standard dull and lifeless piece of crap.im also worried about our long term financial security.

secondly im bored , im bored of the lack of news this summer , im bored with the kirkby debate ,im bored with vdm "will he wont he?"again , im bored with pie in the sky transfer targets too.

but now im really puzzled aswell.

first there was the annoucement that the board had taken out 12 loans and these have pretty much funded our buying since moyes took over.

this was a shocker as we havent really spent much compared to even the averagest of prem teams.when moyes took over he cut the wage bill and has sold a fair few players to make money.
we then have the rooney sale , the kenwright 'investment' from when gregg tried to push him out , new investment from robert earl , 'organizing of assetts' by wyness , a major increase in tv revenue aswell as an increase in prize money.

to be honest , thats a shitfull of money and with the loans aside things sound about right.
then you add the loans and i think " hang on , things dont add up "!

THEN WE HAVE THIS NEWS that "moyes is in talks about his contract and he is about to sign".
im puzzled again , as im positive that ' talks have started and moyes is about to sign ' was the official message from the club way before euro08 even started ?

this summer is worse than waiting for a bus in the rain.
this summer is so dulll if it was a colour it would be beige.

i just cant wait for the football to start becouse without that as the main attraction its hard to turn a blind eye to the complete toss that is/isnt happening .

im off to headbutt a brick wall untill the season starts , its more fun(y)
