What false hope - it's clearly not happening. There's not even a Twitter link to suggest it is, and there's no reason whatsoever to believe we'd be making a bid for him. He wouldn't be cheap, his wages would be insane, he has no resale value, he's attracting the attention of bigger clubs who play Champions League football, he doesn't support us as a child, he doesn't prefer our style, he hasn't had a nervous breakdown, he isn't irrationally attracted to wearing blue shirts and living in Merseyside... etc. etc. etc.

Bit of a pointless thread really with no real substance behind it whatsoever...
No offence like OP.
 
Heard he had a £6m release clause in his contract. Also heard Arsenal were in for him. If we could trigger the release clause, it would still be difficult from the wage aspect. Perhaps Moyes or Neville would take a pay decrease :)
