But suits, the news reports say they launched an investigation immediately! Surely you believe them :P

schumacher into hill.. year ???

coulthard sidestepping for hakkinen.. what year ???

mansell and senna pissing each other about 'blocking' lines... which years ???

this entire fiasco stinks. 'gamesmanship' hasnt been punished before.

Didn't Schumi get penalised

Team Orders are now banned

Mansell Senna sounds like racing.

Blocking the guy in the pit is different. During qualifying! The penalize drivers who block in qualifying on the track, so why not in the pit?

well, it comes down to opinion then doesnt it.

'i didnt see him'

'the car was faulty'

'i was trying to obey the pit rules'

'i had to defend my line'

Have you heard the excuses for this one though.

Alonso:

I wait until the team tell me to go"

"I took 10 seconds checking to make sure the team put the right tyres on the car"

Team:

"We were timing so he would have a traffic free run on the track"(there was 1 car on the track at the time)

Essentially "Hamilton was too fast and screwed our running order up"

There is no straight story and Somebody had to get it, though it shouldn't have been driver AND team.

get cynical - its another opportunity for alonso to highlight that the eam are pushing the number two driver before him.

ok, its a chance for the team to listen to alonsos bitching and get on his side now the deed is done.

(great game this, so many possibilities, i can spin them all year :D )

I didn't see what happened, so no comment on that.

but what about this no penalty thing concerning the spy row, found guilty of having the information, but no penalty given because there is not enough proof to say they used it.

Surely the proof is that neither car has broken down so far this year, whereas in previous years that has been the bane of mclaren's cars, makes me wonder how all of a sudden they have got 100% reliability.

BUT, they only got the info towards the end of April. Hardly all season is it.

Either way, McLaren probably deemed the info to not be worthy and didn't use it. That is the key point, they didn't use, and it couldn't have been all that comprehensive. It was a 780 page report on Ferrari as a team, including how the pit crews operate, so I hardly think it was detailed technical info or aero testing results/designs.

doesn't excuse the fact that they had it in the first place, key info on your biggest rival.

It just strikes me as suspect that all of a sudden they become F1's number one team.

Hey Stepney gave it to them (allegedly) it isn't like they were actively spying.

well, who asked him to get it for them, fair enough you're a mclaren fan mate, but I'm just pointing out a few things that are suspect.

actively spying or not, they still had it and may have used it, also now seem to be using dodgy team tactics, banned from getting constructor points for this race now...

missed qualifying but will catch it tonight before the race.

the best thing about mclaren is that they let their two guys race and build up good honest dislike for each other. the problem with schuey was he never was pushed from within the team.
