One goal wrongly disallowed and a harsh red leaving us with 10 men.

One of theirs too, to be fair. Didn't see much wrong with it, but lots of oddball things got counted as offside tonight. Weird.

Hope benitez says something about the ref. We heard klopp and solskjaer say something at the weekend. Needs to be a review of refereeing in England. The standard has been shocking for years, yet still manages to get worse year on year.

As a team we have never looked any good with a back 3/5 whatever anyone wants to call it and would have kept the same shape as against Southampton even if the personnel was different..... The sending off probably forced the change in shape.

Good to see us grind out a win in a game of strange decisions:
• Kean was onside for his goal
• Kean shouldn’t have seen red; yellow was enough there. Idiotic from him nonetheless.
• Huddersfield unlucky to see their second ruled out; however, he was offside and immediately in front of Begovic

Gomes changed the game when he came on; dictated the tempo really well and lovely play for Townsend’s goal. Could’ve had a second assist for Gray in the last minute too.

Benitez got his changes spot on again when the chips were down. Happy to be in the hat for the next round!
