A celebration of a life that gave so many people, over such a long period of time, so much happiness.

From David Moyes:

First of all, I am sorry that I cannot be with all the other Evertonians today at Howard’s funeral and show my respect in person.

Unfortunately, I have to be at training with Real Sociedad today because we play on Saturday. My best wishes go to his family.

I was truly saddened when I heard about his passing because Howard was someone who I greatly respected at Everton. His achievements as both a player and a manager for Everton set the standard to which everyone continues to aspire.

My memories of him are of the support he gave me during my 11 years at Goodison Park. We would regularly bump into each other in the corridors after matches and his enthusiasm for the Club and the team always shone through.

Despite his status, he was someone who gave the manager distance and was never pushy. But he always had important advice or insight.

I attended many functions with Howard and always found him good company, with a wonderful array of stories from when he was managing the Club which I enjoyed listening to.

He will be sadly missed - David Moyes

They have planes these days Davie, you'd be back in Spain in time for tea.
I find you so insincere.

Howard's final lap of Goodison under way.
My family chose to go to the ground rather than the church.

Thanks again Howard, God bless.

I'll raise a glass to you later.
