How satisfied are you with Moyes' second reign so far?

What Moyes needs to do to improve the team is very simple: consider making substitutions before the 70th minute, regardless of the score. If he did that, he'd have greater approval.

I honestly don't know Dave,if the media are to be believed we've been knocked back by a few players,Tete may or may not have been the RB who would have made a difference but then Fulham made him a better offer. I think Moyes is okay for the position we were in, going forward I honestly can't think of a manager who'd do a better job given PSR and the fact it's doubtful we'll be offering European football. Moyes has his faults but do I believe he sent the players out to stroll around in the first half against Leeds,Wolves away in the League Cup, Sunderland in the FA Cup and Newcastle, Brentford,Spurs...

He surrendered that cup tie at Wolves, and he couldn't inspire a comeback and win in all those other games. The Brentford game was utter muck. The most disgraceful home display in the last 20 years - and there's been some stinkers in among that lot. Brentford who couldn't buy a win completely destroyed us. Brentford.

Difficult one to work out Dave, more or less the same players won at Villa,Man U and Bournemouth. Would the support embrace holding the deep line that is proving successful away if it was employed at Bramley Moor? Why when Moyes is renowned for producing teams that have a high level of fitness do we struggle to play with any level of intensity for more than 45 minutes. Questions with no clear answers.

I didn't want him back because I was burnt by Kendall's endless failed returns but we were 1 point above the relegation zone when Moyes came in and 13 months later the quality of the squad has improved and we now have a chance of a European place. (although I think we'll come up just short)

I've never been part of the brigade who seem to want a new manager every week so I'm satisfied with him so far.

Needs to improve our results in the cups though. Three early exits in them since he came back is poor.

Initial season taking over for Dyche : extremely satisfied with what he accomplished
This season: disappointed in that I felt he had some opportunities to capitalize on clear opportunities to gain points in certain matches which I felt he squandered by being too overly cautious or opting to pick his favorites opposed to the players that would best net positive results. Still think he's doing alright in the overall scheme of things despite how maddening it can be watching him operate

Im responding to this purely because you gave me an "unsure".

Martinez didn't ever have us in a relegation scrap, did he?

Koeman was sacked, replaced by Allardyce and we finished 8th, such was the predicament we were in. Regardless of where we were, when he was sacked. It was absolutely the right call. He never got everton, hos arrogance was a terrible fit for us.

Lampard is a poor manager at the top level, yet had his hands tied completely by FFP. Dont think anyone can deny his likeability, but definitely his credentials.

I always liked Silva, pressure got to him, it was too soon for him. Hes doing a sound job, with less pressure. A relegation scrap again, is the wrong terminology, given we weren't in a relegation scrap with him.

So question is, why cant fans have ambition? Why cant fans want more than just good enough? Why cant fans want to be entertained for £800+ a year?

Villa, Newcastle, pushed on... why cant fans want more? Your examples all related to a previous regimes. For years we were told its "little old everton"... but how about we break those shackles and actually push on rather than just be steady?

Martinez 100% had us in a relegation scrap do you not remember stoke away?

Do you not remember wining 1 game in 13 in his second season? Or the two wins in 16 in his third?

Koeman was saced and we were 1 point of the relegation zone. The whole point we got Allardyce in was because we were in a relegation scrap.

Silva had us in the relegation zone it was only the fact dunc did such a good job filling in that Ancelotti came in to us in a decent place.

Lampard took over Chelsea when they had a transfer ban and everyone thought they'd be lucky to be top 10 and got them CL football. He only got sacked after 4 losses as well. He said in a interview he blamed dunc because they were unbeaten till we beat them 3-0 then was fired a month later.

Theres nothing wrong with ambition and wanting more but when the ambition is just younger = better, then i question it.

Weve had a whole host of managers from old hands to the young managers everyone wants and none of them have brought us stability let alone success.

Yet moyes it the only manager since moyes to bring a level of stability to this club and everyone want to get rid of him as soon as.

Villa have insane money behind them and pulled the trigger on a world class manager when they had gerrard. Theyve gave him the keys to the kingdom and said go for it, and he has.

Newcastle have thrown everything at it and psr has stopped them dead. Also rumours coming out of Newcastle is the PIF have pulled out of investing into the club.

Our owners aren't going to throw 100s of millions at making us a top team. It just isnt happening.

Ambition is one thing but you have to be sensible in your ambition. You might dream of flying but i wouldnt jump off a cliff flapping your arms and hoping for the best

I'll update a post I made a couple of weeks ago.

As of today we have 34 points with fourteen games to play. That is a very happy bottom line.

We are rarely entertaining it's true, but after some of the very scary seasons we have had since our last trophy I am ' satisfied ' if not doing cartwheels!!

I see that just under 60% of us agree.

I agree with most of your post but it is not correct to say 'everyone'. Look at the poll for instance.

The majority of us are grateful to be comfortable with 14 matches still to play given the sleepless nights we've had in other seasons.
