See, I was waiting for just that sort of reaction. The lad explained why he had never voted Labour, and straight away, a knee high studs up response.

As to your point about the education of the front bench, and being out of touch, that applies to many, many MPs.

I'm going studs up as I've heard this over and over again.

The Tories are supposedly the party of opportunity, but just look at them - they're just a bunch of money hoarding spivs; each with their own disregard for human life.

Yeah, it's the tribalism that does my head in about political loyalty. I've never understood what Labour supporters are loyal to exactly - especially around where I live, where making Labour one of the safest seats in the country has been rewarded with the square sum of absolutely nothing when they're in power, despite being one of the poorest areas of the country.

Labour say all the right things, then do all the wrong things when given the opportunity. The more to the left they are, the worse it is.

And because I say all that, I'll be labelled a "Tory" of course, when the reality is I can rant just as much, if not worse, about them.

It's become a toxic position to be reasoned in your political views and not jump on a bandwagon to either side.

Also, your point about MPs in general being out of touch, bang on. Nobody is going to convince me that Emily Thornberry, Diane Abbott or Jeremy Corbyn himself has the slightest clue about being lower class in the north of England.

I work for a well known charity and most of my clients are social housing tenants and I can categorically state that none of them are going on fancy holidays or living the high life. I know it does happen but in my experience it’s a tiny minority rather than an amount of any significance

I agree that 70% are fine and don't cause any problem, if they do then they have reason to. However, 30% are the most lazy, self-entitled little ****'s I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. The trouble is they have kids, and I worry that their kids will learn this behaviour and carry it on through life.

IMO the Victorians had the right idea with the workhouse.

I'm far from being a Corbynista (those that follow me on Twitter will back me up here), but I've spoken to him directly about the problems my family has faced and he understood it far better than anyone else I've spoken to.

I'm loyal to Labour, as long as Labour are loyal to both myself and my class interests. Politics isn't a game for those of us at the bottom of society, with little money and little opportunity. It's something that has tangible outcomes for whole areas, and people often don't understand this.

Meanwhile my son who has worked all his life can't get a council flat or housing association place in his own city and is paying rip-off private landlords.
I'm Labour-minded but there are folk who don't deserve what they get.

I agree, Sir.

Unfortunately I see it all the time. Sadly quite often those who work the hardest are the lowest paid and cannot afford a decent standard of living. It is those people who I want to help.

Surely that's the point of a Labour government? I'm sorry, but I'm failing to understand what exactly the Tories have done for 'ordinary working people'? Wages have stagnated? Rent has gone up?

What exactly do you see here?

I'm referring to the one that was brought in via the Welfare Reform Act 2012.

Thats the one that made the situation the same between private and LA rentals?

Look, I dont want this to become a tit for tat bore fest, the point I made was that lad said he had never voted Labour and he gets jumped on. As a Socialist myself, apparently, @magicjuan I find the berating of anyone not in tune to your views and a free target unseemly.
