Are we talking Net spend or just "overall spend"?

I think we will get about £90m for Lukaku and Barkley, maybe £20m for McCarthy (linked with Magpies for that amount today)
so that's £110m
then we need;

Goalkeeper £20m
Center back £30m
Martina from Southampton (free)
Left back (back up for baines) £10m
Replacement for Barkley £30m
back up Replacement for Barkley £20m
target man £20m
pacey forward £20m

so that's £150m going out, or about £40m net. When you consider we will get £130m from the premier league for coming 7th, that's a nice £90m for wages and "Other Operating Costs"

I can genuinely see us bringing in over 150m. It's gonna be a heavy net profit. But that apparently doesn't matter....

if we sold Lukaku and Barkley ( 2 players we are led to believe want to leave ) for 120m combined and spent the total amount of 120m on incomings why do people get arsed over that? As long as the players we bring in are quality players I'm not arsed how much or how little they cost. We won't get a striker who will score the same amount of goals as Rom but we might buy 2 strikers and a midfielder who combine to score the same amount. We might buy 8 players for 120 million so then we can't just go and buy another 6 for 100m.

If players want to leave it's not worth holding onto them.for the sake of saying "well that means we are sell to buy and it's a negative net spend".

Need to have a window not based on sales at some point. Can only get so far selling a big name every summer. If we dont need the money (as we are constantly told) then don't sell. It's quite simple.
