Small mention for my Granddad who never missed a home game 1927-74, just over a thousand games.

First matches were as a nipper in Dublin 1969- 72 when I was brought along my older brother and a family friend - Everton came over every year from 67-72. I am pretty sure the match in 1970 was played at Milltown and the last friendly was in fact played at the RDS not Dalymount c.f link

My first time travelling on my own to a match in the UK was Gary Birtles' home debut for the Mancs at Old Trafford - 1980. I was 15!! Still got detained by police for about an hour at the ferry port when I arrived !!

I joined the ESC in Dublin and travelled regularly after that on the old B&I overnight ferry and this included 0-5 to the RS but also the magnificent Bayern game.

I can remember Villa in Milk Cup semi 2nd leg, WBA, RS a few times including Milk Cup Final at Wembley; the Cadamarteri derby, losing to Arsenal at home to a last minute goal around January 1982; City in an FA Cup QF when I think Paul Power got an equaliser for them and they won the replay; Sheffield Wednesday at home when Catterick died ( I was quite near him in the Main Stand - very traumatic); Sheedy's retaken free kick against Ipswich

Since getting married in 92 the trips are less frequent than in the 80s, but I try to get over a couple of times every season.

Next one is Boro at home on 17th!!

Most home games 1975 to 1998 when I left Merseyside. Quite a few always 1977 to 1987 when my dad was really keen. Not that many since. So I'm guessing about 500. My dad has just stopped going but I reckon well over a thousand for him. Typically I'm back in Liverpool looking after dad this week and we're away!

A lot of united, too. Used to work with a few of them. Only one was an Evertonian. (Called Sparky, no less)

alot of the blues there are matchgoing Evertonians, If its the same Sparky i used to know his old fella was the bitterest blue i have ever met!
