How many fans do we have around the world?

If we had sign Robinho we would have generate much more exposure and tv times. Which in turn could help us recruit young fans worldwide. Kids are always kids, we'll be able to catch their attention if something special happens to our club, especially with fancy football on the pitch. Acquiring this new army of fans might help us generate more income than moving to a new stadium. Bruce is right, football is getting more universal and its important we tap into the worldwide market which will inevitable make up large portion of our income in the near future. One thing is for sure, incomes are directly link to the amount of success we achieve on the pitch.

In Denmark there is a site: http://www.evertonfc.dk/
At my favourite pub the bartender is blue - so we are 2 - as the Chang shirt came, I think they sold a lot of shirts because people thought it looked good - but when I occasionally questioned them they did'nt even know who Neville Southall was (is).

You'll be the third member in DK, Svend. Me, you and Great Dane are all located in this wonderfully flat country. (y)

I think my ancestors came over from Denmark. That looks a great site too! (y)

My grandad supported the blues. He came to Denmark about 1980 and he gave me a real leather football with Everton logo's - but also signatures from all of the players - I do not know how the hell he managed to get to go into the dressing room - at least that was what my mom told me he did. I remember Kevin Ratcliffe's autrograf being on it, and I'm not sure if it was 1979, 1980, 1981 or 1982 but it was before my mom went to Liverpool to visit him in 1983 where she saw a 3-0 win over stoke city.

Here he is on a picture from 1983:

Thank you everybody for the greetings.

To be honest is dificult to follow the Everton news from here, so altough i don't use to write i read this forum many times every week to be informed about everton news.

The saturday's match against Manchester will be on TV again in Spain, this year is the 4th match televised here, (Portsmouth, Liverpool, Arsenal and this), i only expect to be able to see a better result for us!!

One question, what about Cahill, is he injured?

Serving a three match ban mate. Was sent off in the Merseyside derby. Will be back after Man United.(y)

Everton aren't one of the best supported English clubs here in Holland. Top five/six of best supported english teams over here, would probably read as:
Manchester United
Liverpool
West Ham United/Arsenal (new generations, under 18 would probably say Gunners and under the older generations, West Ham have always been popular).
Tottenham Hotspur
Millwall (don't have a f*cking clue why).
To be fair I like it we're not that popular, as I hate to see Everton taken over by those bandwagon [Poor language removed], who follow Man Utd and LFC. Every f*cking argument I start with them I'll win on the knowledge of my club. As they say: "If you know ya history!"(y)
[Poor language removed] off Dutch toffee, no way have West Ham and Millwall got a following outside the east end of London.Just cos you dont see many EFC tops doesn,t mean there are not many fans around, its like that here in liverpool, redshite shirt wearers everywhere yet you hardly see a blue ,untill matchday.

Exactly!!.
Everton fans tend not to be your replica top, badge wearing types. Yes we do wear tops and with pride from time to time but our blood runs blue, we are blue on the inside so dont feel the need to display our allegiance on the outside all the time. When I see people in Man U, R/S, Arsenal and Chelsea tops overseas I get the feeling that they are trying to convince themselves that they are "true fans" more than anything else.

I am currently overseas and working in retail (hey, it pays the bills) anyway, I have my Everton Mug on the counter most of the time and the amount of Everton fans that comment is surprising. None of them had EFC tops on and they would normally pass you by unnoticed.

Also the fact that so many Scousers have emigrated (mainly to the former colonies) would suggest that their Everton leanings have been passed down to the next generation.

So while we dont have a large 'visible' support overseas I think its larger than many may realize. Although nowhere near as many as the Arsenals and Man U's of this world. It will take a few years of EFC playing winning, attractive football to even come close to those (and lets face it thats probably not going to happen under Moyes/Kenwright).

No sorry, I won't [Poor language removed] off:D and I don't know why West Ham do have such a large following in Holland, but the simple fact is they do. Maybe because the Hammers are easier to get to when visiting England. Lets face it there are more tourists visiting London than Liverpool. For the record, I definately prefer the city of Liverpool. Millwall is even more puzzling to me, but I guess that had everything to do with the dubios name Millwall has earned throughout the years. maybe because they're saying Millwall is my favourite English team, they want to look hard. To be absolutely honest, Millwall aren't as popular as they used to be, so maybe that one was based on earlier years, I'll give you that.

I'm 36 years old now and do support Everton since I was twelve and speak to a lot op people regarding football. I'm sorry, but there just aren't that many Everton fans in Holland. Don't understand myself why, but these are the facts.(y)

Interesting. The point of my starting the thread was that we don't earn enough from our global fanbase. So get buying shirts all you lot :P

So its all our fault we've got no money.

For the record I have a few tops but I dont go getting a new one every season and I steer well clear of tops like that flouro yellow number (has anyone actually bought the 3rd strip?).

I dont know who's in charge of promotion but "Brand Everton" isnt very sellable and is hard to come by outside of Merseyside.

and have you seen the official catalogue?, hardly the height of fashion.

Imagine if that Indian bloke Anil Whatshisname bought us, there would be many Indians jumping on board (they're a passionate and patriotic lot) Not to mention there are millions of them in every corner of the world.

You may see an increase in global revenue if that happens. (BTW, i have met a few Russians on my travels and can tell you that many of them have most certainly grasped at Chelsea with their Russian link).

BUT would we really want those fair weather fans??????.

Fair weather fans are welcome. Most will go after a short time. Some will become lifelong supporters, their kid's will be born blue. That will make them the same as me. Fair weather fans? yes please they are part of our future.

COME ON NEW BLUES(y)
