How many fans do we have around the world?

As I ve said before, the only Everton shirts I see over here are worn by people who speak English like what I do. Loads of rs (obviously), some manure and most people like watching Arse (who doesn't?). May be some more in the Basque country given the Arteta connection, though most Real Sociedad fans will have fonder (and more) memories of Xabi Alonso. Probably get more change out of older Athletic Bilbao fans (There was one on site once) who remember Kendall.

I guess that's the point. Are we doing enough to communicate with all of our fans (however many there are) around the world? It seems that the club get in touch with sites such as this in order to sell tickets, but what about all the other things the club offers? As I showed, it doesn't take each of our fans around the world to buy something to make a big impact on our revenue.

Just asked and he did live in Cape Town. He went there with most of his family, apparently there were a few blues over there at the time.
Maybe they all changed to Mancs when those wanks started winning titles! You're really out of sorts here if you're not a supporter of the 'big 4'. A few Spuds here and there as well though.

I don't think we're that well supported around the world - maybe we will start getting more supporters now we are employing more foreign players - this will expand even more as we get bigger and bigger names at the club

at the moment, I reckon china, australia, nigeria and america are our best bets for foreign fans.

don't know where the webcam is but sounds like you mean lights on the pitch?? They'll be there to force the grass to grow quicker by extending their "sunlight" hours.

If that's what you're on about
Ya that must have been it, looked pretty cool on the webcam (y)

I think Bruce you are missing a few points. A new stadium would have the extra capacity to get a few more people in and sitting in relative comfort unlike GP, so more attractive in that way. Should more funds be available perhaps we can see a jump in the quality of signings, better results, more people come to watch, greater TV coverage, wider audience, greater exposure etc etc.

To negative by far Bruce reckon all this bank crisis has got to you.

Oh it is. Luckily I have a group of friends that follow the league religiously. They're fans of: 1 Newcastle, 1 Villa, 1 Chelski, 1 Arsehole, 3 Tottenham, and 1 RS. But the RS fan doesn't know a thing about football so I don't get pissed about it..except when I'm drunk.

Is there any other type of RS?

Hi Robert, thanks for your reply. It wasn't intended as a negative post but more an insight into the changing shape of football. Whilst the match going fan remains important, there importance commercially is nowhere near as strong as it was. This forum is an excellent example of the globalised nature of the sport now, and fans are just as likely to encounter the club through the web or television as they are from seeing a match live.

I wasn't trying to suggest we should stay where we are and scrap plans for a new stadium, merely that a new stadium should be one of many things we're doing to try and earn a bit extra to help Moyes field a team to bring us success. In terms of the cost required, utilising our global supporter base would be a fair bit cheaper than the new stadium too, so it's something we should be looking to do now.

Spot on Bruce, i agree with what your saying 100%. For all BKs efforts and the many "staff" he has put into place, they have never tapped into the commercial side as well as they should have.

The fact is we ARE a big club, with a huge UK and Worldwide Fanbase, this has never been tapped into, the commercial and marketing side of things is a joke, we can point fingers @ JJB, Umbro, but at the end of the day its down to the club to tap into this market.

How many times have people on this forum said they have had trouble buying a shirt, how much of a joke is our club shop. Granted at the moment all clubs will be suffering, every1 is a little bit worse off and somethings, like football, have to take a back seat, but i just feel we have lost out on some much money over the years.

Sad but true its now over eight years since I complained about our shop closing early the day BEFORE Xmas eve while our rivals where open Xmas eve The club were kind enough to reply to Ian Mac who inquired on my behalf the reason ?stock shortage and nothing has changed.

That's standard operating procedure for all RS "supporters" here in the States.

Other than Gerrard and Torres, they couldn't name 3 or 4 other players much less the starting line up.

"Uhhhhh...Crouch? No, wait, Riise. Right? Sissoko?"

Not only for those in the States, believe me. Once told a RS, we were the first team founded in Liverpool. He didn't believe. When I told him about who first played at Anfield, he called me a liar.:lol::lol:

First of all i want to apologize about my bad english.

I don't know how many everton fans are in the world.
I'm from Bilbao, Basque country, in Spain, here since Howard Kendall was our trainer in the 80's is not dificult to find old people who simpatize with Everton because of it. Howard Kendall was a loved person here and he loves Bilbao.
But it was many years ago and now almost everybody who see the premier league simpatize with one of the big four (simpatize, here is very very dificult to find one real fan of a foreign team).

Apart from this, i used to write in spanish forums about the premier league, and in this forums is really dificult to find a fan from another team apart from the big four. I used to write with another everton fan, but it's dificult to find more. People look to me surprised when i say that i'm an everton fan. It's the same, i'm proud of being an Evertonian and my room is really beatifull with the scarves of Athletic of Bilbao and Eventon together!!

Welcome Bilbao fan, hope you enjoy being on our forum, the No.1 for all Everton fans, ignore any other facsimile websites which say they are in support of Everton

I see you have already been welcomed by our Fan from afar
