Since its introduction, only 15% of teams who play in the Europa league finish in the top 4. As others have mentioned the top of the league is stronger and therefore it is going to be a big ask.
Is this cause or correlation?

Extremely far off. We don't have the money that Man City had back then and Spurs have taken one of the top 4 slots.
Agree with this, they were just trying to break into a 4 not 6 like we are. Overall standard of the league has dropped since then though.they had less competition i think, but the competition they had was also better. None of the top teams are as good now as they were then imo.
You can't compare anyone at Everton to the likes of Tevez, Toure, Silva and Kompany.
Probably have to go as far back as Kanchelskis to name a player who would fit that bracket.
even mancity arent guaranteed a top 4...hell even top 6 in the current league. if we fill a gap or 2 in our squad (CB striker) we would be competitive in the top 7.
Not for me. Tevez was a world-class footballer, which I don't think you could say about Lukaku.I'd say Lukaku was in that bracket, he certainly has a goalscoring record in the Prem comparable to tevez but now he's gone anyway.

Haha - he's certainly a character.Yeh when he wanted to be, remember when he refused to come on as a sub and went on strike at City he's a worse biff than Lukaku.
