Current Affairs How do we tackle terrorism?

Not just any young Muslims. Young Muslims with problems. If these young people didn't have these problems, they wouldn't be radicalised.

It's no coincidence that the attacks on Britain have been carried out by young men of ethnic groups from disadvantaged areas, most of whom have been previously involved with crime.

Mate the root cause is those radicalising young people. They are the easiest to monitor too. We know who most of them are. We can spend all day with our analysis of the economy or demographics or we can get out there and monitor or lock up people we suspect are encouraging atrocities. That saves lives not whataboutery as us Irish call it.

Indeed, but your words will be lost......

I know my comments were a bit emotive and some didn't like them but...

I know I was right to say "keep your counsel" and say nothing unnecessary. And what happens? The US press name the bomber before they should have and now they are at it again with these pictures. I'm sorry but shut up and do the f.. job. Don't give the b...ds a chance to regroup. That's what I meant the other day and I got shot down in flames (and maybe rightly for being a bit emotive) but here we are..

The US are not covering themselves in glory at the moment. Someone over there deserves a really good kick up the arse.....

If this is your ideal fix to the problem then i guess you will be voting labour given the conservatives recent history of public sector cuts.

I totally agree that the root cause is those doing the radicalising. It's not as easy as locking them up though - the young people often travel to middle eastern countries and are radicalised while they're there.

I cant vote for either as they don't stand in my NI constituency. But yes I think more resources are needed for intelligence and security against terrorism. We owe our children to protect them better.

Nice try. But your IRA apologist approach doesn't wash with me........

Oh dear. Shall we mention British shoot to kill policy in occupied Ireland. How about let's talk about British soldiers ramming broken bottles into women vaginas and men's backsides, in Kenya and see who the apologist really is.

Until the British leave their occupation of Ireland there will not be 'peace'. Likewise, until the US and the UK stop interfering for their own aims in the Middle East there will be a reaction. Nice try being an apologist for the slaughter of hundred of thousands of innocent people in Iraq.

Also, it's worth making the distinction between those who are carrying out atrocities having been manipulated into thinking that they are doing something "right", and those that are doing the manipulation and brainwashing (the latter group are the more dangerous) and how those two groups have different reasons, motives and aims.

What are your views on why those doing the brainwashing and radicalising do so? Are they not so themselves?

Appearing live on Channel 4 News, the shadow home secretary was grilled on her voting record and the record of her party leader Jeremy Corbyn.

The presenter put to the politician Mr Corbyn’s decision to vote against anti-terror legislation 58 times, as well as her decision to reject laws 30 times.

Give it a rest mate. There is peace in Northern Ireland. I'd rather people who don't live here didn't make comments like yours above. But I'm not taking this any further.
