How boring are we to watch?

The warning signs were there for all to see last pre season. Then we had the usual excuses rolled out at the start of the season with fatigue following the World Cup being the favourite. At the same point in the season, Chelsea (with a whole squad who where at the World Cup) where sweeping past all before them. Then our participation in the Europa league was used as another excuse (even though our results were no worse in the weeks we weren't playing in it). That is all we've had this season is excuses, excuses excuses. Even injury wise, apart from early injuries to Barkley and stones we have had a relatively 'light' season on the injury front. I genuinely can't wait for this son to be over. But at the same time, privately dread the thought of some of our key players leaving the club this summer.
Do we have any key players apart from Stones? Rom has hardly been a goal machine, Ross looks very average, McCarthy is good but its not like he's irreplaceable. The rest are at an age where frankly we would get good money and wouldn't exactly be the end of the world.

If they go they go. I've seen nothing this season that suggests we're on the cusp of anything so maybe a shake up would t be the worse thing to happen.

We need to hold and give and do it at the right time
We cant be too slow nor to fast we need someone who can get to the line
the opposition will always try and hit us and hurt us in defence and attack
The best way to beat teams is around the back

Last night Foxtel (Oz) didn't want to leave the A league playoffs post match interviews for The Premier League Early game, a quick 15 sec.announcement If you're looking for the Everton S'land game go on to viewers choice and hunt a round for it. Then back to the A League post match inquest

I was like whhhhaaaaat. And then turned it over. And then was fighting to stay awake. God we were just toothless.
What I learned from last night -
Barkley has become utter boof.
Lukaku is off in Spain or Italy, you can just tell.
Coleman is too good for the likes of us.
Stones may be feeling the media heat.
McCarthy is getting better but still not enough to get us back into games.

If Martinez bins Barry (big ask) and get's a playmaker in we'll see a huge difference.

With the way Martinez sets up, I think it honestly could be Barkley where the problem lies.

Martinez in midfield plays 2 deep 1 forward. Barry does the job he's asked of him, drops deep to distribute and break up play, yes we all know he hasn't lived up to last seasons performances but that position isn't going to be the key in getting us going in my opinion.

Barkley on the other hand is the link between midfield and attack and let's be honest he's not very creative and he isn't going to get you 10 goals a season on a regular basis on recent performances although, I do believe he has the potential to, I just don't think he believe's it himself.

His link up play with Lukaku was lauded last season, this season they look like complete strangers.

That's because foxtel are bellends, if it was Liverpool vs chelsea they'd have a 2 hour intro with robbie slater foaming at the mouth at how Liverpool are the greatest club in the world and the champions chelsea would barely get a mention

Entirely agree with this thread in that Barkley has been gash all season and that means that Lukaku is on his own. Barkley never runs beyond him nor plays near him for long enough to play joined up footie.

Lukaku who incidentally has been gash too often needs a mate. Or two hot wingers. Or alan ball or Beardsley. Or something.

Rm needs to upgrade our attack.

Maybe you are right. I still think a 'shake up' of the managerial set up would bring about better results than selling the likes if rom, Barkley and McCarthy. When we beat united it showed what this team is capable of, due to the failings of the manager we haven't seen it often enough.

A season to forget, no one will dispute

But seen worse under A host of our previous managers.
people seem to think under Moyes we wer playing like Real Madrid and competing for every trophy available.
Nothing really changed

In all fairness moyes would always give us a cup run, many seasons we got to the QF/SF of cups. Martinez went out in our first rounds.
