if we had any ambition our best players wouldn't want to leave, and we were not under any pressure to sell Stones or Lukaku, we sold because without that we wouldnt have been able to buy Schneiderlin, lookman in January or any of the players we have signed in the summer that is very obvious. Like I have pointed out already Moshiri has no intention of anything other than keeping Everton ticking over until the ground is complete and he can sell on at a massive profit and recoup his "interest free" £80m loan. enjoy mediocrity

It's easy to say we have no ambition because where we find ourselves, we went out and paid good money in the hope of attracting better players but they are still resistant to come to us. It is therefore understandable that any of our already world class players want out to go on and fulfil ambitions that they may have now. We are a work in progress, it will take a few years and a number of other clubs to have some meltdowns or our recruitment drive to get the best youngsters hit the jackpot before the players we need to go to the next level to look at Everton as a desired destination.

Stones had a gentleman's agreement made with Martinez that he could leave in the summer if we didn't get a CL place that season, we honoured that deal. Lukaku rejected a contract saying he wanted to move on, if we hadn't have sold we could have then easily ended up with the same situation as we have now with Barkley. Most people think it's a farce it got to that stage with Ross so what would people think doing that with an asset that is worth twice as much?

We had money for a striker on top of what we spent, if not why would we have bought another no.10 if it was a one or the other scenario. Granted the Barkley sale may have compensated the extra spend but we would have still had a decent net spend. We could have spent 400 million (or around 8 Sigurdssons to put it in a more meaningful way) and still be miles away from the teams we are trying to catch. The differences are, they can spend that much due to their incomes being around 400 million a year and the players that want to go to them are the best around. We cannot take that gamble which will put the whole club in jeopardy. It is a slow and steady process that will hopefully see us back where we should be. That doesn't mean the club haven't made mistakes this year, it is quite obvious to see. We need to make less of these going forward or the gap between us and the rest will grow and it will be harder to close.

It is proper boring. Same old same old.

The planes will be flying over goodison come march and the blue union will be marching down goodison road.

All this before Bobby brown shoes wins the World Cup.

Bored beyond belief at the football we are playing.

Unsurprised that Koeman has been a disaster.

Angry at how Koeman has blown £150 million on ordinary players in their 'prime'.

Angry about how Kenwright and now Moshiri have lowered expectations/standards at the club.

Extremely angry that Koeman hasn't been given the boot.

Excited by all the young talent that we have.

Hoping against hope that Unsworth is given a shot at the job.

you should have included an extreme apathy option, the simple fact is that changing the manager now will not change anything, we will merely be bringing someone else in for "more of the same" i.e. a brief spell of delusional optimism before real life kicks in, another manager who will fail to live up to our fanbases ridiculous aspirations based on the false message broadcast from the very top of our club.
There is no ambition to compete at the very top of English football, any club with serious ambition would not sell their 2 best players in consecutive close seasons (and without injury would probably have sold a third), we are miles behind the real big clubs in English football both financially and aspirationally.
Moshiri unintentionally showed his and the clubs aspiration with his acceptable losses speech the other week, what message does that send out to the players? we all know that Lyon will beat us easily, we all know that Chelsea will smash us next week because that is the benchmark set by the people that lead us from the top.
The only person who constantly sets standards appears to be Unsworth, he at least knows what nil satis nisi optimum means and that is reflected when our young players like Kenny come out with statements like "we are Everton we aren't scared of anyone" lines as he did when asked about the Chelsea tie, like it or not we as a fanbase love that its kind of always been there, some of you will be thinking its fanciful tosh however it's better than "expected defeats".
Moshiri has quite simply ripped the heart out of this club with his appointment of Ronko and to a certain extent Walsh who appears to have recruited random piles of [Poor language removed] without any cohesion, direction, or end game, now he is refusing to act when the likes of Crystal Palace, Leicester have pulled the trigger on their managerial failures, somehow its good enough for Everton.
Apathy is all i feel right now because even a change of manager will not change anything without some clear direction from the top. Mr Moshiri when you are watching the rubbish on offer tomorrow probably from the comfort of your London apartment, look at the amount of empty seats at Goodison and realise that the apathy has set in across the fan base and if you are not bothered about having a proud, passionate team that's fine, just do the honourable thing sack Koeman put Unsworth in charge and [Poor language removed] back to whatever Russian investment organisation you appeared from and while you're at it take Kenwright and Elstone with you.

Best post on GOT......ever ;)

Absolutely nailed it mate ;)

It’s just crap isn’t it from top to bottom and nothing ever changes. The only shining light is the academy.

I used to fight tooth and nail to book holidays or swap shifts in work so I’d never miss a game, now, I’d rather be in work and finding it increasingly difficult to find someone who wants to use my season ticket instead.

..I just find it so disappointing. Wouldn’t be too bad if there was light at the end of the tunnel, wouldn’t be too bad if it was just the defeats but it’s the manner of the defeats. Disappointing and depressing.

..perhaps low gates in the cup matches might have more of an impact on the hierarchy than results.

I put entertained. At the end of the day that's what I want from my football. And although things are going badly now, it's still entertaining (in a perverse way perhaps) to fume and vent and complain about koeman and Walsh!

Can’t see them being to bothered at anything above 30,000 to be honest. Need gates touching 20,000 for them to take notice.

I cant see it happening though, It's hard to get league tickets these days due to high Season Ticket sales, so its a way for people to take their kids the match. Everton price it cheaper too so it will always have a good crowd.

We have potential like Zat said. It may be dire now but it gets darkest just before the dawn. (ok ok may have borrowed that from a well known superhero film)

Lots of teams have tried to sign a load of players and then found out the team doesn't gel. Players need time, I remember Baines having a season on the bench due to some shockers, sometimes you have to grow into the club. I'm pretty hopeful that we will see improvements from Keane, Klaassen and Sigurdsson over the course of their time with Everton. We still have 3 pretty decent players to come back from injury and I'm sure we will go after a decent striker come January.

Give Koeman until the end of the season and if it continues to be a disaster say goodbye and get another decent manager in. As per original post it would be good to enhance our reputation of a club that doesn't just fire managers during a sticky patch. As long as the green shoots of recovery begin to show then we can stick by him. It shows other managers that they will get a fair crack of the whip here and may help us get to a higher level or world class manager.

We are still a million times better off than the days of Kenwright owning us.

AC Milan had a huge turnover of players last summer and theyre not doing well either...

What on earth is this poll zat?

Those first two options are redundant when the question might as well be “How would you feel about a swift kick in the bollocks and the news that entire family has died plane crash?”

Depends on your relationship with your family weighed against your inheritance.
