Horse Racing

..I don't think he ever had a Guineas entry. It was only his 2nd run, he pulled very hard early on because he's getting used to the game. As Hayley Turner said, Benbatl was the one to take from the race. Bin Suroor said he's bred to go further, I think he needs cut in the ground looking at his action.

Very decent racehorse.
Yes he did pull very hard, showed good battling qualities but didn't strike me as a guineas horse. Be interesting to see what price for the Derby now, as often horses who are beaten early season can be overpriced, although the likely quick ground would be against him. Often Godolphin horses come good in the Autumn.

..I checked the Derby prices after the race but I'm not sure if Oddschecker had been refreshed. I'm not convinced Benbatl will get 1m 4f but I had a couple of quid e/w a few weeks ago @ 33-1. It was still showing the same in Ladbrokes today, but as low as 16-1 in Paddy Power. As I say, I don't mind losing a few bob if it doesn't turn up at Epsom.

Eminent won that how he liked. Serious horse for the Guineas if anyone wants to risk Churchill not bring ready
Looked a proper serious horse last year did Churchill.
I saw Aidan O'Brien getting interviewed last week, he was very bullish about Churchill, which is slightly unusual for him.
Will be a crackin' race the Guineas, I'd love to see Churchill run in it and win, it's great watching top of the range race horses do themselves justice. That's if he is the wonder horse that he looked last year.
But as I'm sure you know, the step from 2yo to 3yo sometimes doesn't quite work out. Interesting season ahead.

He will run in it mate and he WILL win.

Interesting stats for the Scottish grand national tomorrow.
7 out of the last 10 runnings have been won by a horse aged between 7 and 10.
6 out of the last 10 runnings have been won by a horse carrying 10st 6lb or less.

There's only one horse that fits both stats, Father Edward, 66/1
There's one other that fits the weight stat, man with Van, also 66/1

For a race that throws up a few shocks I think I'll have a little EW bet on both.

You're welcome.

..my type of prices. I'm a big Peter Bowen fan, especially at Aintree so if the winner comes from his or Sue Smith's stables I'll be happy.

Father Edward now 100-1, Man with a Van 125-1.
