You don't play 50 times for the German national team if you're 'adequate', although I struggle to see the difference between good and adequate anyway, to be adequate you have to be good enough for the team.

He's clearly a top level player who has been beset with injury problems.
 
He never scored long range screamers with any regularity, did he? Like Gibson.

It's barely a selling point if once a season you score a nice goal.

That said I'm hoping he'll sign. He always seemed a decent player and we're light in CM. Although I'd hope our interest in Ofoe was still strong.
 

i hope we sign him but he never struck me as a ball winner..or am i wrong. Obviously Gibson is first choice, but if he is out, can Hitzlesperger play with Ossie for example ?

No way a contract will be till season's end. He's not a loan signing, he's a free looking for a contract. I said before in this thread I think we can do better in January. Why throw money at this feller - who's pretty limited? By the time he gets fitness it'll be early November anyway by the sounds of things.

I dont know mate we have history with these type of deals, McFadds, Neill, Hanahmen - basically cover. Win/Win we gets a body and he get a shop window for the season.

I agree though there are a number of alternatives id prefer - but as always it will prob come down to sponds.

Can we add him to our list of 25 players who can play in the Prem even. We prob dont have 25.
