I very much doubt the Queen would have wanted any of that.

I'm inclined to agree. I'm a died in the wool Republican so am biased, but mandating 12 days did feel a bit medieval.

I'm sure people will mourn, and show their respects at sport appropriately, but not sure its feasible for everything to stop for 12 days.

Nothing is stopping as such. Its just the forced nature of it all. Today, sure. Charles on telly later, thats fine. Like, how long can you report/broadcast on an old lady dying?

I was going to say if she had just a little bit of knowledge on what the British Empire did when at the height of it's power, then she wouldn't be embarrassing herself. But hate like that doesn't bother about things like facts.
