The Monkees released a single in 1967 called Randy Scouse Git which charted in the US.

Mickey Dolenz had heard the expression used by Alf Garnett to Anthony Booth charecter. (Til Death do us Part?)

It meant nothing to the Americans at the time.

However, British record labels said they may not release the single in the UK under that song name and told the Monkees to use an alternate title.

A month later the Monkees released a single in the UK called Alternate Title!
