Have we appealed

TBH Gibsons tackle although not a red in my eyes, looked worse than Coles! Gibson had a very good game too it was a stupid challange, but just evened up by a poor ref!

To be devils advocate {I want the reds rescinded}, but I want to see ref consistency, so maybe he saw Victors first kick and as it wasn't a dirty match let it go so the next high kick in in his eyes was deemed dangerous and once he had sent cole off he had to send off gibson for his. Should they have been yellows instead yes so his mistake is the card colour which might be hard to rescind as its his opinion as he saw it but its not as if there was no contact on either. I think they were poor decisions by the ref and the linesman on the day but i am trying to gauge how they might judge it and they will have to back there own. It could be really costly for us as well, feel definitely more confident when he plays, 500k for gibson is a steal

I hope the club get this sorted out pronto, as we need Gibson for Wednesday for sure.
I'm confident that it will be rescinded as I don't deem it as dangerous play', same for Cole' s challenge.

Neither offences were red cards & they should both be rescinded. However, I sense that the referees union will kick in here & they'll somehow manage to justify both calls. If the ref had any bollocks, he'd admit today that both shouts were wrong & save everyone the grief, but he won't & Gibbo will no doubt spend 3 games sat on his arse.

The whole appeal process seems to resemble the Wednesbury principle from common law,eg so unreasonable that no reasonable person could arrive at the same decision.

In the sense that Gibson could have caught WHU player in the head, so is dangerous, the FA will back their man. Will the ref make the same decision on Wednesday if the same circumstances occur? No, because it was a bollox decision on Saturday. Nearly every respecting pundit has called the referee's performance what it was; ****e. 99/100 the ref would issue a yellow and that would be it.

The whole system is weighted to backing the referee and not undermining them. But in the process, by allowing bad decisions to stand they are completely undermining the respect campaign. It's hard to respect the FA when they don't accept it when they are clearly wrong. Respect works both ways. But this is the FA, "the inventors of football", "custodians of the game" and they wont change for anybody.

...strategy at play here. The appeal is unlikely to succeed but wont be deemed 'frivalous' meaning he wont end up with more than 3 games. This will limit time without Felli and Gibbo to one game - v Chelsea.

There's no chance of either of them getting off. There was was no intent but they were reckless. Yellows would've been enough,
but the ref' stuffed it up, again.

The thing with Gibson was both his and nobles feet were the same height as the ball was just over waist height. Noble got there a fraction of a second earlier which meant Gibson foot followed through. Gibson didn't kick noble, nobles momentum took him into gibsons foot. Not even a yellow for me. Rooney was involved in one at the start of the Swansea game, but no one has (correctly) said anything because the game just carried on.

“Carelessâ€￾ means that the player has shown a lack of attention or
consideration when making a challenge or that he acted without precaution.
• No further disciplinary sanction is needed if a foul is judged to be careless
“Recklessâ€￾ means that the player has acted with complete disregard to the
danger to, or consequences for, his opponent.
• A player who plays in a reckless manner must be cautioned
“Using excessive forceâ€￾ means that the player has far exceeded the necessary
use of force and is in danger of injuring his opponent.
• A player who uses excessive force must be sent off

Sure, wouldn't be surprised if they do stand but under the actual laws i really don't see how they can back the refs decision because clearly neither player was using excessive force. Its arguable if they were even being reckless but thats surely the category the challeneges fell into so should have been a yellow.

However both players feet were in danger of injuring an opponent so its that mixed message in the wording which they'll probably hide behind.
