Has Fellaini really got a £22m buyout clause in his contract ?

I don't think this really matters. Fellaini seems to want to go to Chelsea (hopefully has more class then to want to go to City) and, although they seem interested in him at the moment, they won't buy him until the summer. In fact, if Abramovich still has thoughts of bringing in Pep Guardiola (following yesterday's announcement by Pep that we wants to get back into management) then Chelsea won't waste money buying big name players now as they'll have to save up to buy Iniesta and Messi for the new manager. I'm not sure that Fellaini is the type of player that Guardiola would go for, but I could be wrong.

Only someone fom Camberley could think Chelsea are a better club than City...

Reports out of France saying Fellaini to Chelsea.

Fellaini vers Chelsea

Translated to english:

Fellaini to Chelsea

With Frank Lampard leaving, Chelsea are looking for a midfielder. It could be Fellaini. The 25 year old Belgian international should sign a 5 year contract at the champions of Europe this week. The player, who should bring in 27 million euros for Everton, earns 5 million euros annually there. Man U dream however to match the Blues' offer to take Fellaini for themselves.

Sounds like a load of bollocks to generate hits for their site to me since there is nothing of substance there. I'm not going to worry myself too much about Fellaini's future when there's nothing more than unsubstantiated paper talk going round at the moment.

Worst thing about all this is that it's only the 9th of January if this story is complete tosh we still have stories till end of month of is he isn't he moving.please efc don't let it go till 5minutes to go in window and suddenly the big man is off after a offer we couldn't turn down

Lots of 'coulds', 'mights' and 'maybe's' in there....absolutely typical of the French sports journals.

Pour etre clair, cette piece sera destinee pour la poubelle....c'est la merde, completement. Fin.

Correct. nothing in there suggests that they have more info than the British tabs.

If he does go this month then I hope it is to Chelsea as the buyout clause doesn't apply to them this month. I have a feeling they will bid big this month to get him ahead of everyone else.

If Fellaini leaves, which will be devastating, then as long as we spend the money really really well, I see no reason why it can't strengthen us anyway.
