Maguire is pretty raw still, but he's not devoid of potential. I wouldn't bother with him, but he's got size and some skill - his dribbling gives some indication, which is surprisingly good. But he's flat out overweight and just stupid with the ball when he wins it. He could be good with the right guidance and discipline.

Nowhere near the league of Koulibaly or VVD. Very different players than Lemos or Llorente.

I guess the penny has finally dropped then. It doesn't matter if a player is viewed by us as pap. The manager is the only one with an opinion that matters. If he sees a Maguire or a Pickford as progression ....then so be it. Have to say though.... Seriously not what I was expecting as a statement that the club will never be the same ™

Technically very good, strong in the air and reads the game very well for a young man.

I can honestly say the first time I saw maguire was against us around Xmas. My initial thought of him was that he was a yard dog with very little ability. Maybe others have watched him since and have a more informed opinion of him. We struck gold getting Gana from a relegated team, but look at Kone, Robles and alcaraz. I fear maguire would be the latter.

he's absolutely crap.

He is slow, overweight and just been relegated at the age of 24.

He reminds me of Michael Dawson, who did well at Tottenham when he made the step up.

I don't think he looks as though he's too good for his club in the way that Jagielka and Lescott did at Sheffield United and Wolves, but you never really know until they get a chance. His lack of pace would be a concern for me - especially when it's likely that he'll be partnering Williams - but Koeman does seem to know how to organise a defence, so perhaps he has a plan for Maguire.
