Well Jesus is depicted as white everywhere. That was originally due to white western cultural influence in art that became the dominant depiction of him. It was borne of racism.

However everyone now with a Jesus statue in their home or whatever aren't doing so to be racist.

Everyone being awarded or awarding that medal aren't doing so to be racist. The connotation is long since changed.

Easy to make the mistake, and I agree that much religious iconography has a racist historial subtext - however, it's clearly not the intent with that medal now.

So it's not an example of perpetuated racism.

Some people would love it to be though, they can't get enough of it, the great white saviours. Harry needs to look at himself and his Nazi uniform

Who said anything about everyone being awarded or awarding the medal doing so to be racist? Not every police officer in Remington wanted to be racist but it didn't help them not being seen as such when they had a confederate flag on their badge.

No one has suggested everybody with a white Jesus statue is racist. If you can't see a difference between that, this medal, and the handing out of it to ambassadors for the UK to foreign nations I'm very surprised.

We are not racists they say as medals are handed out depicting white angels standing on the neck of a black man who is Satan

I saw. I'd feel you'd be hard pushed not to see this as the they being the monarchy/the establishment and the medals highlighting the history of racism and subjugation which carries on to this day. And I'd struggle to find anything to argue about there.

I live in Queensland and I find it weird we don't have it. I think most people are for it around Brisbane and the Gold and Sunshine Coasts but outside of that there seems to be total opposition. You are right that its the opposition of what NSW and Vic do. This place so badly needs it as well because being a state that has a high amount of tourism due to the weather but you cannot maximise those hours in the sun like other states.

'Its a wise child that knows his own Father'...is a very old, wise and profound saying on a couple of levels.
Who your father is is the least of his worries, he has to know who He is.
And his mother is not blameless...again, possibly on a number of levels, either.

Somebody showed with maps graphs and table etc...that it doesn't really 'work' much north of Brisbane...and they could be right.
I still find it silly in the summer its broad day light at 0430 and dark at 1845.

But it will fade the curtains...the cows will be confused...2 of the top 5 reasons in 1 poll.

Like I said - Instant vote loser.
