Current Affairs Harry and Meghan Part 3: I can't think of a snappy subtitle

She's weaponised that though.

She moaned about the press acting like a firing squad waiting for the next shot, and then she repeatedly carries on handing them the bullets. Because how else do you explain the fundamental contradiction - moving to the US to 'escape' the press, whilst simultaneously setting up a brand, being on TV every 10 minutes through hundreds of endeavours and interviews and then setting up a grandstand 2 hour interview on Oprah?

People call that naive of her... really though? It feels like she's orchestrated it all to me.

And, again, good on her, as she's profited big-time from it.

There is no contradiction there. Learn what 'consent' is.

She’ll fall out with him next, then he’ll come skulking back like the Prodigal son begging forgiveness - plus a few quid - and enter into a lengthy sleaze-throwing court battle over custody of the child.

Plus, everyone’s only discussing this cos we’re all bored stiff.

Yep.

If my partner decided for some odd reason to run a full page ad in every national newspaper saying "hey, I thought of killing myself", I wouldn't blame anyone for asking why the hell she's gone so public in saying that and what the motive could be for it.

My personal experiences are not a factor for me in judging whether or not Meghan is telling whoppers for financial and reputational gain. It's basically an objective subject matter. The emotional aspect of the subject matter is basically a shield you need to get over when looking at the bigger picture.

I can see the bigger picture, just massively disagree with your stance on this.

You’re coming across as somebody who thinks mental health problems don’t happen to the rich.

How she’s aired her views or conducted herself is irrelevant. She said she was struggling mentally, went to get help and was refused. We’re in no position to say that didn’t happen. For me, it’s the type of comment you have to take a face value because the day you don’t could be the day somebody really needs you to take them seriously.

If you look at the bigger picture yourself you will see she’s been through a lot in the last three years so it really isn’t hard to believe she felt like ending it all.

She's not weaponised them, at all - they were already being used against her, even when she wasn't doing or saying anything. If she'd said and done nothing since she got to LA, she'd still be slated for it in the papers.

That right there is why there’s still a stigmata about mental health

I said private... as in family, friends, professionals. I find that most people are sympathetic to mental health.

But you think telling the whole world is a better approach? I call that attention seeking.

Of course they do, enough of them bloody kill themselves after all!

I just don't think she's telling the truth. You're giving her the benefit of the doubt, that's fine; I'm not. I have substantial doubts. So did Morgan; it's cost him his job - personally I don't think that should have been the reason he lost his job; there's dozens of other reasons he could have done but that isn't one of them, as she opened the door to critique of her words and actions by doing a two hour massively promoted mega-interview with Oprah Winfrey.

By the by, I'm not a fan of Piers Morgan. At all.

Well he’s gone now so let’s all just rejoice at the fact that fat waste of blubber has been had off.

Attention seeking? Are you freaking kidding me? Do you have any idea how hard it can be for people to speak out on their mental health? I’ve had friends and family who’ve struggled in the past but wouldn’t admit to having a problem till they were on the brink
