Good points - all very well made. I do think those examples you have listed are inappropriate behaviour. There is no denying it. It is mortifying that in the 21st century this sort of stuff still appears to be relevant to some people. With the Danny Baker tweet, my understanding of it was that he was not aware that she was mixed race. It doesn't excuse it though.
My point here is that those incidents, no matter how inappropriate, were not racist. They were race based articles done in terrible taste. There is no excuse for them. To claim they were racist is incorrect though. Is Meghan getting a hard time because of the colour of her skin. I say she isn't. If she was I would be the first to condemn it. I do not believe she has done herself any favours with regards to how they have conducted themselves. She was always going to take more flak for this situation than Harry because the British public have watched Harry grow up, and felt for him when his mother died etc. Meghan, whether justified or not, is always going to be the american film star that took him away. I would say that her being an american actress is more relevant in this situation than her race. Doesn't make it right though.
Having said that, I do believe that she hasn't helped herself here. It just seems off to me that they are going to America. I don't think that would have been Harry's idea. They will also make quite a lot of money with regards to the chat show circuit etc. I believe this is on her as well. For them both to copyright the "Sussex Royal" name reeks of gold digging as I don't think that would even have occurred to Harry.
