2025/26 Harrison Armstrong

He plays in our strongest position were when fit everybody who starts are

James Garner
Idrissa Gueye
Kiernan Dewsbury Hall

Garner & Dewsbury Hall have arguably been our best 2 players, so first name on team sheet when fit
Idrissa Gueye was our POTY last year and even if he is out he has cover in Iroegbunham who has been excellent when he has come in

We have seen the emergence of Merlin Rohl again in the last few games which Moyes was quoted as 'we needed to find a way to get him into the team

Also we have Charly Alcaraz back from injury, who i dont think moyes rates but can pop up with something here or there

So he doesn't just have all the starting positions blocked for him, there is an argument to be said he has all the back up positions blocked also

Apart from the injury crisis we had in Jan with Afcon, i just don't seem to see were he would of /should of put him in
It's why he should have been sent back out on loan.

DM if he had a football brain when 2-1 up could have subbed KDH - & put Harrison on Wharton who ran the show in the 2nd half ....DM needs to know we can use more than 2 substitutes in a game the rules have changed .... 2 minutes for Alcaraz FGS
Wharton was dreadful all game, he was also poo at the Hill Dicko

People see the occasional ping or a nice turn in towards the forwards (instruction from Glasner as they play the ball into midfield for the midfielders to take on the half turn) and thinks he's Pirlo or something.

Lad would get eaten alive at a Utd or Liverpool

Most clubs are after him en gland international were you watching a different 2nd half to me ?

I’ve not understood the pecking order all season.

A player we considered needed a loan came straight back into the team ahead of new signings like Rohl and Alvarez who play those positions. Then he even gets in ahead of Dibling as a wide player.

Then for some reason despite doing well he’s completely moved out and Rohl Iroegbunam and Alcaraz are back ahead of him.

We should have sent him back on loan.

The debates about whether Tim should play ahead of Gana or whether KDH should play deeper and Charly play in the 10 are all irrelevant imo because Harrison Armstrong is a generational talent and should be starting in midfield - not next season, not the season after, NOW.

I don’t say that based on watching a few minutes of him here or there, I say it based on having seen him play more than any other non-Everton player over the last twelve months. He was too good for the Championship, he’s too good for our bench and we’ll have to keep progressing over the next couple of years to make sure he doesn’t become too good for us. Come on Moyesy, give him a run in the first eleven, in his best position, and watch him go.

You know Moyes is putting him on as a winger or at left back, if he puts him on at all.

It’s true! I wouldn’t even mind, but the other week in the presser, Moyes said Harrison had been doing really well, but then his form had dropped off a little bit as was to be expected for a young player - but what he didn’t mention was that it only dropped when he played him on the wing! It’s surely not a newsflash that a central midfielder doesn’t play at quite the same level when played on the wing? Next week, he’ll be saying that Rohl’s form dropped off against Palace or that Jake amazingly finds form whenever he plays at centre back!

He’s one of the best passing players in the league which even in this era of grokball still matters

I’m just not sure what about anything he’s done to date says generational talent. I’d be thrilled to be wrong of course but Tom Davies had a much more impressive youth career and resume before becoming a first team regular, just as an example.

I think it's the opposite, playing in a better team would help him with his weaknesses and accentuate his passing.
