I think this is the problem.

I saw a bit of the Leicester/Newcastle game yesterday and there is no comparison between the tempo of the game played by Leicester and by ourselves.
They are a positive team, moving the ball around quickly and constantly probing for openings.

I think we have the players who could pretty much play the same way if allowed.
Did not see the Leicester game, but they have numerous players who can turn play quickly. But Gylfi does not have pace either with or without the ball. The most important thing though is his lack of ability to turn the direction of play quickly. He is a good player, but not suited to the system we play. He is not suited for the No. 8 role either.
 


If someone as gifted as Ozil isn't able to cope with the pace of the league anymore, it shouldn't be all that surprising to see Sigurdsson struggling.

He still produces moments of genuine quality, and I could easily see him doing well in a less physically demanding country, but the game in England has largely passed him by.
