Always viewed Scotland as the Everton of international football. Someone up high simply won't allow them to ever be good or achieve anything.

It isn't even about the goal, I've said out loud "what are you doing?" as soon as he's hit it because he's a CB who has stepped around a man and has at least three decent options to pass to. It was a chance for them to create something and he's gone for a 40 yard hit. That was a terrible decision.

The fact that it spawned a counter of sorts that ended in his net makes it even worse.

TBF they created a lot of chances and England are not the best defensively. England will need to be on it on Friday night.

Honestly just stop after Dykes. He's gotten great looks and missed them all.

Czechs need to be careful here. If you plan is to keep it tight defensively and break but Dykes is getting chances you might not do so well against Harry Kane.

The problem is, you can replace most of those names.

Adams, Forrest, Gilmour, and Frasier in for Dykes, O'Donnell, Armstrong & Christie and that team would have been (IMO) far superior.

Gilmour would allow McGinn to play in Armstrong's position.

I guess the other thing is if they usually play with the GK that far up he's got to know he actually can't give it away. But that seems harsh when Marshall is where he is.

Still, terrible decision.
