I tried REALLY hard to stay awake for the entire match yesterday, but ultimately failed. I remember Grealish and Horrenderson coming on but probably nodded off about ten minutes later.

England lacks any creative spark whatsoever. It's especially apparent through the middle, where no-one apart from Bellingham ever seems to even be looking towards the opposition goal. I appreciate that there's been a change in formation and personnel over the last couple years, but can it REALLY be the case that Kalvin Philips is the key to all of England's attacking play through the middle?!

Southgate and that squad should be utterly embarrassed by their toothless, clueless performance against a USA team made up largely of lads who'd struggle to make it at Championship level clubs.

England's players seem far too lazy and entitled, they seem to have forgotten that they have a responsibility to work hard and EARN a victory. Not ALL of them, granted. Pickford and Trippier look like they put in maximum effort every game, and Bellingham is clearly a top prospect. But some of the others are just so visibly disinterested.

It was tepid football: as you mention, they seemed to lack the urgency if not fight to get the ball moving. USA wanted it more and it showed in abundance.

The Iran result masked what's been a poor few months for England, with the common denominator being style and implementation way below what's required.

My wife, who isn't a big football fan, was sitting watching the game with myself, my son and daughter. She even said, "Why are they passing backward?"

"Why aren't they overlapping?" From watching our children, even she knew that it was lacklustre. I don't think Southgate is one to kick them a kick up the arse.

At HT, they needed positivity mixed in with a mild-bollocking.

The Americans have laid a SMACKDOWN on the England fans on here and it’s crazy to watch. Think that game cut English deep last night, just read through and wowed at the lack of English resistance and them getting Yankee infracted for their insolence. A complete humiliation.

Sets up the group nicely for the final game.
New world order. Hearing the FA is calling the premier league something like Big Soccer next season and every game goes to penalties, even if it's 5 nil at fulltime.

Imagine booing a team that got a draw and all but sealed qualification to the KO stages.

It's going to be fantastic when England get beat. I'm expecting the relatively more liberal Qataris to step in and stop the English from stoning or beheading their own team.
