Group B: England, Iran, USA, Wales

In a small group stage with one game against each other H2H is far more likely to create a tie than goal difference or goals scored. If Wales beat England and Iran draw with USA then 3 teams finish on 4 points. Each have won one and lost one against the other.

I think goal difference makes much more sense in this format
I'm not suggesting throwing goal difference out completely. I just think in a scenario where Wales and England both have 4 points and no one else does it doesn't make sense for Wales to go out having beaten England. If it is a 3 way then yes GD will probably need to be used and is sensible.

But we want Wales to win on the Tuesday night mate.

USA are decent, some good players, underrated, will surprise a few, though be a massively emotional game against Iran anything could happen.

Also expect Serbia to be a bit of a dark horse and surprise a few.
We are Mexico now. You'll see our best footie against good teams and you'll see our worst against a defensive shell because like Mexico we don't have any striker who can consistently score.

and hey CONCACAF, not a dumpster fire this tourney.

I saw an English person asking why the USMNT didn't "take the knee" with the England team. Here in America, we believe in meaningful gestures. If we protest something, we kneel during the anthem but it's a protest that invokes a lot of anger. In England, the players kneel for few seconds before the kick-off, which is an incredibly meaningless gesture. If England players feel like protesting racism, why can't they kneel during the anthem or refuse to sing their anthem?

You’re lauding our players for not making things political or religious while you continue to make things political and religious. Give it a rest.

I'm really proud with how the USMNT have gone about with things during this WC. Whilst we recognise the issues around LGBTQ laws in Qatar, we haven't caused a huge commotion in this WC unlike some European nations. We've been going about things how it should be.

I’ve never read two more sanctimonious posts on GOT…and I’ve read some of davek’s posts.

“Here in America”…..You don’t even reside in the US.

And ffs, don’t dare lump your vile take on the world as representing all Americans.

Slabhead was MOTM for youze.
Pulisic was the best Chelsea midfielder on the pitch by a good margin
USA had service but no forward, England had a forward but no service
Tyler Adams tackle on the edge of the box was key play of the game
USA should have started Aaronson
England should have started Foden
When Walker Zimmerman came out from the back with the ball, he looked like a cartoon character juggling one of those big black bombs with a sparkling fuse and “BOMB” on it
