About 50/50 although we should err on the side of caution with a poll like this. Forums with an international readership are more likely to collate the opinion of non-match goers.

I hazard a guess that amongst season ticket holders the ratio would be around 20% yea and 80% nay.

Well, you just need to exclude us from the poll then.

You do, however, exclude a wider opinion from beyond the PL world, opinions shaped by how other codes & countries deal with "land locked" stadia. This may not be relevant to your particular opinion on the concept, and that's fair enough, but don't mistake my distance from Goodison & my lack of attendance for an uneducated opinion. I have been a fan of this club since birth & have loved it since I attended my fist match back in 73.

I concede that members who attend every match have a greater weight in voting on something like this, but excluding the "foreign" contingent is something, I would suggest, you not do lightly.

*waves hello at biggy.

Hiya.

I didn't talk about exclusion, not once. I mention the poll being skewed by international readership merely because if these things came down to a vote, a la Kirkby, then it is regular attendees, Evertonia members and season ticket holders who will be balloted. Hence it is relevant to this debate, this thread and the discussions herein. Nor did I mistake your distance from Goodison and lack of attendance for an uneducated opinion.

I'm guessing when you reread my original post (as an educated man) you'll realise you were being a bit creative with what you read, and that xenophobic territorial subtext you thought was present was all in your head.

peace brother.

*resists temptation to lift nose in a French sorta way... ;)

Hi Leon.

Absolutely correct, you didn't mention exclusion, hence my first line about removing us from the poll, or just taking one with the Members only to achieve the desired outcome. I apologise if you took that as an attack on your post, not my intention.

To be honest, its hard to follow Everton from here. I am surrounded by a sea of tossers in ManU, Chelski, and RS colours, who only follow them because they are fashionable. I follow Everton for reasons which I've previously mentioned & from this distance, I'd like to see them prosper.

Was I being creative? Perhaps. But only because I don't want to be labelled like one of those bandwagon tossers. I genuinely care.

I guess I should put some perspective on this. I attended the Everton vs Melbourne Heart game & sat in amongst quite a few travelling scousers. I enjoyed the chants & the singing, but I bristled at the "You're only here to see Timmy" calls. Said in jest, I know, but still, it hit a nerve.

Anyway, I'm off topic here. Apologies. But no hard feelings at my end. Of course, the members have the ultimate say from a supporters perpective, but there's a wealth of experience from other codes worth considering...I guess that's all I needed to say huh? ;)

Cheers Leon.

Its good that there's passionate and true Evertonians everywhere. And you should take the "only here to see Timmy" chants with a pinch of salt. If you'd had a chat with any of them fans I'm sure they'd of been welcoming. The scouse sense of humour takes a bit of getting used to.

take care fella.

Imagine in 10-15 years you take your young ones to see a Game at the Air Asia stadium shared by Liverpool and Everton, no sense of history, some nice pictures of the teams glory days, that rotate from Liverpool to Everton on Matchday. Can't do much about the Red Comfy seats, ...you have to sit next to some tourists, from Norway or Japan, they wanted to see Liverpools stadium but were only in town on Evertons matchday....you have to drink out of a Liverpool cup, they're sorry but the Everton cups are out of stock.... All the corporate types don't take they're seats until 10 minutes after halftime, effectively killing the atmosphere.......after a depressing defeat, (all the xtra revenue is being spent on our new owners debt portfolio) you walk your kid home. "Do you see that building over there?", "what the PC World, or Dunelm store?" he says, "yeah, that one. I saw my First "Everton game there, we used to go mental, the atmosphere was so special, I still remember pictures of it half demolished, I cried when they tore it down, Dixie Dean score 60 goals there and passed away at the derby game......"

"Dad, can we go next week, I want to see a Liverpool game there too"

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAARrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!"

"Dad?, why are you taking that football into PC World?"

One could just as easily paint a nightmare scenario in the near future at a crumbling Goodison.

No-one knows what's coming but I'd hate to see us sacrifice our future for the sake of our history

Over my dead body!!!!!! Id rather not share a stadium with the RS id rather slide down a razor blade and use my b******s as breaks then take a bath in salt water before this happening

I voted NAY, basing that choice on that bayern-1860 munich scenario. We all know the red [Poor language removed] will get some sugar daddy soon enough, while we will carry on robbing peter to pay paul. Where would we end up if we couldnt afford our side of the payments and were forced into becoming tennants to that lot. Can you imagine the ridicule we would receive. That 'lets laugh at everton' thread on RAWK would go into meltdown. I dont think i want to risk that. We would never recover.

I actually thought about saying hi, but never got to it. I do get scouse humour, being half scouse n all. Not so much about what was said, but I felt as though I was one of those there for Timmy only. Nothing will take away that the team came to my home town & played under the roof for us though! ;)

On a side note, we're talking about the RS getting a Sugar Daddy & getting bigger than us, in regards to stadium clout. If we nailed the deal & stitched it up tight, you never know, they may get so frustrated, that they decide to leave & build their own...then, it's ours alone!

I grew up with the rs and their fans giving us [Poor language removed]. If I couldn't handle it I wouldn't be a blue. I don't give a flying fcuk what they or the national media say. I'd prefer to see us redevelop the old lady but it's not gonna happen. If we've got the possibility of playing in a world class stadium every fortnite, Go for it blues. Don't think it will happen anyway
