Yakubu has a goalscoring record of scoring in 78% of games for Everton.

For Boro he had a record of 34%

47% at Pompey, and 66% at Hapoel Kfar Saba

It seems he started well, and dropped off at Pompey, got worse at Boro, and now he has exploded at Everton. Down to the player? Or those around him?

Legend status already in my eyes. He has to beat 87% to match the great man, but are there many better strikers at Everton over the years?

Joe Clennell had an incredible record of 114 goals in 104 games making him the most prolific striker of all time for Everton, however, this was during WW1 and its not official. Outside of the war and against tougher opposition he scored only 33 in 74 games.

So far though my stats have given me this:

1. Dixie Dean 87%
2. Yakubu 78%
3. Gary Lineker 77%
4. Tommy Lawton 74%
5. Fred Pickering 61%

Anyone want to interject or have anymore that I may have missed.
5.

Id imagine Graeme Sharp's percentage wouldnt be up there with the five above but im going to give him an honourable mention. Hero of mine when a kid.

Sharpey took a while to get going, though. Amazingly, just before we improved, Sharpey got tonnes of stick from the fans. Then Kendall turned things around and the rest is history (y)

I got this from Wiki:

Latchford made 268 appearances (3 as substitute) for Everton scoring 138 goals.

So that would put him a shade over 50%, which is pretty damned good.

Good, but not great.

For the record Sharpy has a record of 150 goals in 412 games, which comes in at 36% - which isn't that great.

In a way it's a shame that Saha looked bright on Sunday and will probably mean that he'll be nicking goals from Yakubu from here on in.

In another, although less pertinent way - it's really not!...

Lineker and Yakubu have both had one good season with Everton, but that doesn't qualify them IMO to be considered as "greatest Everton striker". There should be a qualifying mark - say 50 league goals for the club - before their stats can be compared.
