During the current depression, this website has been a great place to air the frustrations.

I joined in February looking for information regarding the Fiorentina trip and didnt expect to use the site at all after that, however, I've really become addicted and it really is a great place to be at.

Without trying to spark a war here, I've registered on Bluekipper, ToffeeWeb & NSNO but I just cant get involved at any of them!

Bluekipper especially, too many threads on the same topic and its hard to follow a discussion and most importantly, its hard to feel welcome.

Here, I find that it's easy to voice your opinion and have a laugh without getting slated too often :D

The reason it works is because there is a line that we all know we can't cross with regard to the tone of posting. That keeps things civil and friendly. It means you want to come back for banter rather than a row or to prove a point. I know when I post anything elsewhere, such as Toffeeweb, my attitude tends to get a whole lot more aggressive and intolerant. Here I don't feel like bitchin' towards other members.

What's happened to Monty? Before I posted on this site I used to see him all the time.
 
I have to agree with you, i didnt really bother with forums, but i started looking for more info during the Summer transfer window. I always used to use bluekipper for my info, then i noticed they had a forum, so i signed up. I found little bits of info, but the only things that were useful were links to storys, other than that i thought most ppl spoke complete bolloxs.

Upon clicking a link to a story, i found this forum, i was shocked, every1 seemed to speak sense and even the ppl that didnt speak sense to ME, they put their points across well.

I no longer use bluekipper, mainly cos i got banned, :D, but in all fairness i didnt enjoy the forum, i did try my best to get banned. But its gotta be the worst forum in the world.

Im glad i found this forum. I love each and every1 of you, even halewood, i miss halewoodblue, i wish he would come back.

Yup fully agree with everything that you said. Registered on here one summer looking for transfer gossip and I thought I wouldn't use it at all after the summer was out. but it's hard to just leave this forum because your opinion even if people don't agree with it is respected here. I tried NSNO and BK aswell at the time and I couldn't get into the swing of either here your always welcomed onto the site even if you don't support the club and I enjoy the fact it's very lighthearted and all about the banter.

There aren't many grudges that I can pick out of the top of my head between posters... (except TX and Halewood.) and It gets heated sometimes but that's because we're all passionate Evertonians who want the best for our club. At the end of the day that's all that matters and even the posters who dislike eachother still acted in a civilised manner which you don't see on BK.

Although I never post there NSNO has much improved since before the summer they have some decent posters on there and they've kicked a few of the bad ones out. (Staveros being the main one)

Both NSNO and GOT get the thumbs up from me.
 
Sadly BK, especially on the EO site appears to have attracted an inordinate amount of cyber-keyboard hardmen who sit waiting to pounce on anyone who dares to hold a different opinion to them.

Such unfortunates are met with immediate offensive responses that are more indicative of the character of those giving the abuse, than their intended targets.

I suspect that most of these would make interesting case studies for first year, first term psychology students, as a taster, before moving on to study somewhat more complex examples of the human psyche! :lol:

The friendly vibe that comes down from the people at the top gets caught by pretty much most people on here.

Even when it gets heated and people disagree about something it always gets sorted and no lasting grudge is kept.

There are always a few exceptions that just become a pain in the ass but even they are given chance after chance to be a decent poster here but just seem to want to cause trouble. Everyone tries their best with them but after a while its best to get rid of them cause allowing bad elements for too long around here will just turn this place into an unfriendly argumentitive place.

This board is what it is because of the people on it, both us mere mortal posters and the superb admin team(y)

I think monts had a disagreement with a poster and felt he couldnt return without upsetting the vibe or doing a disservice to the forum. A shame he was well loved by one and all on here and he would regale us young uns with stories of past glories! but hopefully he will be back at some stage argueably there would be no GOT without a few merry men of which Monty was one!(y)

Where did Rob Japan ever get to!

I quite like Suits and HB when they aren't at it, there was a spell before Halewood got banned where he was a top, top poster. It was a shame he had to let a disagreement get him banned.

In fairness to Halewood he was on top behaviour following his return and in many ways was provoked unfairly by a few who really should have known better, but just before he left the second time he said some awfull things praticualrly to Dylan so no complaints, i wouldnt be surprised if he comes back.

Suits what can you say is just Suits hes a top bloke!

The sad thing is the two of them bleed blue and know there stufff wheather you agree with or not the forum is the looser in all this, which is sad i consider both as mates!

tbh i've never really had a discussion with him, but some of the one liners he comes out with are rather sidesplitting, along with Reidy.

Yeah he can be hillarious, the thing about Suits its easy to pick up when he has a bee in his bonnet, but what people dont see is when he sticks up or supports people when they need it or when they are being marginlised or unfairly treated and is compelatly impartial. I like to think hes a good mate mine, and he would have no problem sending me through the washer over something hes jsut honest and impartial and calls things how he sees them rightly or wrongly. There is certainly no malice in the man, despite what some may think.

Its sad because when there were very few people posting here in the early days Suits did as much as anyone to keep this place ticking over, contributed an awfull lot in suggestions to the forum, and well was a great bloke to have around! A True Blue and Gent!
