Wasn't Linker sold rather than refusing a new contract so not sure the two compare, with regards to le Saux was wishing Batty would come out of nowhere to lamp him one after that.

He was deliberately trying to say something a bit shocking but only ended up embarrassing himself. It's like suggesting Real Madrid might come in for Messi and Barcelona better be prepared for it. It's just a plain ridiculous thing to suggest.
