Punk didn't want Reigns in The Shield did he?
I forget the bloke they wanted instead.

Thing is, he worked perfectly in the Shield in a way that accentuated his (limited) strengths and hid his deficiencies. You're right, he is too green to be a leading solo star. He's barely had a singles match, let alone a long PPV headlining style match.Reigns is still far too green in the ring to benefit from the push he's going to get. And on the mic.
In fact, just in general. He was always the weakest link of The Shield, even prior to their call up to the roster.

Maybe while he's been out they'll have been drilling him to get him ready. He's been having acting lessons to help him on the mic, hopefully they'll have helped him on ring craft too as I think he will definitely be champion at the end of Mania.
I think you're all being a bit harsh on Reigns. He's definitely got something about him.
I thought Rollins would die on his arse after the Shield split up - shows how much I know. He's ace.
Agreed - I don't mind Reigns to be honest. As mentioned above, he certainly has 'the look' of what they go for, and he can be impressive and does the whole intensity thing pretty well.
Although I do admit he has his limits.
Maybe the time off he's had will have given him some time to learn a bit about wrestling philosophy etc. I did hear he's been taking acting lessons to improve his mic skills.
Also, he's probably the wettest wrestler I've ever seen. Dunno if that's a good or a bad thing.... I'll go for good.

Not being harsh on him at all - I acknowledged he has "the look" and that's what he has got about him, and given that it's sports entertainment then these days that is all that is needed to be the next Cena, who also has "the look" but isn't technically sound in the ring to say the least.
agreed with the views on Reigns, I don't think he's ready for the top spot yet either, but he's one of the few (maybe the only one) with the look wwe loves (which is because he can appeal to casual fans)....
problem I see with reigns is, before he got injured he was was being forced on the fans...and he doesn't have to mic skills, charisma or ring skills to back up the push he's getting....if things don't change when he returns, come WrestleMania I think Reigns will be booed out of the building (not what you want when you're starting the 'Reigns era')....
for me right now, Reigns should be a heel (maybe a Paul heyman guy) for a year atleast.....let him develope his character and get more experience in singles match....then eventually build the tension between Reigns & Lesnar and have reigns turn babyface before WrestleMania....
for the mania coming, have a heel Reigns against Cena...and put him over....that would elevate him better...
just to throw it out there,
My Mania card would be something like:
Lesnar vs Rock
Reigns vs Cena
Wyatt vs Taker
Sting vs HHH
Rollins vs Ambrose
Ziggler vs Rusev
Daniel Bryan vs Cesaro
Paige vs Emma
(have Rollins cash in on Lesnar or the Rock....crowd would pop huge)...
Hall of Fame: Undertaker, Macho Man, Demolition...
