That's the most recent, but the loads of other examples.

WWE basically fired Kurt Angle in 2006 for having a drug addiction and refusing to go to rehab, yet TNA signed him straight away as soon as he was released and put him on their tv. He wrestles on TNA's shows (he's been in rehab and has had several DUIs since), but his contract is up in August and he's probably leaving the promotion, looking to return to WWE. However, like Hogan, he is unlikely to pass the WWE medical to ever wrestle in WWE again. The standards are so much higher in WWE.

Didn't know that about Angle - be utterly boss having him back in any role at WWE. One of my all time faves.

It would be nice if he could come back, but his neck is screwed up. He's said in interviews that he gets numbness in his arms, which to any other normal person or even normal wrestler, would ring massive alarm bells. Edge had a very similar thing and told the WWE doctors that and was forced to retire as a result.

I think Angle will come back and be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame next year, but whether he'll ever wrestle for WWE again is really up in the air.

Actually that is a really good point. A variation of the story was the fact Angle didnt want to take time off to heal his injuries up and as his contract was up, WWE told him he wouldn't get a new one until he had taken time off. Ergo he signed with TNA instead.

but whether it was drugs, injuries or whatever else that led Angle to TNA it dodn't help when they put every single title on his including the tag title (by himself) and had him wrestle more than once a night!

Angle himself claims he asked for early release as he couldn't take time off to heal given his schedule and that he would be leaving anyway when his contract was up. TNA allowed him a more relaxed schedule and much less travel as TNA wasn't on the road then. Also his wife Karen at the time wasn't happy with him always working hurt and the state of his neck.

Sure drugs will have played some part as he will have been on numerous painkillers but I find it hard to believe the WWE would have fired pretty much their biggest star at the time (along with Cena and HHH).

All hearsay mate, one of those things that no-one apart from angle and the specific people at WWE know the real version about it. Either way he ended up at TNA and has wasted his career ever since in my opinion.

I agree that he has wasted a lot of his career at TNA but you do have to wonder whether if he had stayed with WWE he would have been able to carry on for much longer after 2006. From what it sounds like with the shape of his neck he probably would have had to go the Edge route a good few years ago now.

It is a shame that he has spent so long in TNA doing pretty rubbish stuff though. Same with Hardy but he only really has himself to blame.

I didn't actually know this but just had a look and yeah he did in 2012. Claimed he picked up a shoulder injury due to Hardy's "wreckless drunken wrestling". Can't seem to find what the outcome was though.

First TNA sued Steiner for slagging everyone off on Twitter, the case will go to court in december.

Then he counter-sued, saying he was out of contract. Then he dropped that and went with the Hardy one, which is "pending".

Steiner's as much of a mess up as Hardy to be honest so that should be a fun lawsuit!

For me,everytime i have seen Steiner he seems to i can imagine to have an ago way be yound the line, and a "always look at me i am the best type thing"

You'd be naive to think that there aren't some dodgy substances going around in pro Wrestling, but WWE has been a publicly traded company for a long time now, and I'd imagine that just about every care possible is taken to ensure they're as clean as they can be. The 90s drug scandal was tough on Vince, but I imagine another scandal today would be many times worse because of the position of the company now.

True. Also Linda McMahon has been involved in politics for the past few years as a member of the Republican Party so she could certainly do without a steroid scandal as it could quite possibly ruin any chances she might have of a successful career.
