GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

Nah i'm only messing with you Mikey. Can understand your point totally.

I just side with Punk for doing what he felt right. Not his fault that his home fans really wanted to see him last night.

Punk got me back in wrestling when I was on the verge of leaving it forever, with that shoot. And to be honest I need something similar again.

You could even compare Punk leaving to the Bret screwjob in a way. What they did to Bret wasn't right in anyway shape or form. But to look at it another way, it's a job where Bret should have been happy to do as requested (ie lose the belt with no fuss).
In a way Punk should have been happy to do what his bosses told him to do. But I appreciate that he didn't want to.

The company has become a juggernaught now that has nothing to do with wrestling in my opinion.

Bryan Punk and the like don't get the big push to stardom yet Movie stars the rock and batista return and do. It is no surprise that they are involved with films at the same time of returning either.

After the WWE network which places a stranglehold (no pun intended) on the market to directly put the money into WWE's pocket and TNA floundering it leaves no viable alternative.

This means te creative control only has to make names out of wrestlers, not stars. As long as Randy, John, HHH, Big Show and the like are the faces of the company then Punk, Bryan, Ziggler all will not get a real look in. It is not a suprise that the next people to be pushed are the traditional looking stars (Roman + Big E) rather than the smaller ones.

The thing is that the average WWE fan is actually hugely clued up about all the behind-the-scenes works now. Bringing in the part-time big names for the big PPVs is seen precisely for what it is - a way to boost PPV sells. It's nothing to do with wrestling and the fans know this all too well. Most of the time the fans are two steps ahead of WWE's creative team.

Which is all the more reason to not give them what they want. If they buy no matter what now with the network then there is no real need to create a product that excites them. In all fairness 20 quid ppv have to be sold, but if people are paying either way then there is only serving to create faces that is needed

In reference to Lionheart, I believe WresteTalk TV made mention of it on the show and decided to use it as a way to have a sly dig at PCW and the promoter has thusly responded on social media

From BIB has said, it sounded like PCW did the best they could in a horrible situation. I'm not Steven Fludder's biggest fan, but it seems a bit rich for the Alex Shane Mafia on Challenge TV to have a pop at him just because he isn't in their little club (Which also includes the upper echelon of FSM magazine)

And to top it all, a man actually suffered a very serious injury and yet these jack-offs are using it for cheap point scoring

Sickening

Was a shame Punk didn't turn up but we got another great match between the Shield and Wyatts. Not quite as good as at EC but still very good. Some brilliant spots too, Rollins landing flips over the top rope twice in about 5 seconds, Reigns kick from the outside and spear over the table and even a Harper suicide dive. Will be interesting to see if they keep the Shield together and do the full split at Mania or if they do it prior and have a match at Mania.

Was the Shango gimmick used just for a signing or was he involved on the show itself, I know he used the Godfather gimmick for the tournament

Yeah, he wrestled as Papa Shango, beating Bubblegum with the shoulder breaker finisher, on Saturday night's show. The previous night he had been Godfather with all the Ho's, and had lost to Bubblegum after Team Single had attacked him. Godfather/Shango is another one who was just awesome and a great laugh. When he was Godfather, he was EXACTLY like he is on tv, all the time. He was having banter with all the lads, and at one point grabbed a fans pint and downed the whole pint in one. Total legend!
