Remember seeing it - I was in awe of Triple H after this one, at the time I thought that was real blood spurting from his face after being pummeled with a barbed wire 4x4. Never did I imagine someone could take that kind of punishment.

Err that was real blood fella, anytime you saw blood coming from a guys head was done by nicking the skin either just below the hairline or on the forehead with a piece of a razor blade hidden between a layer of tape on their wrist or in the referee's pocket. The only time blood was faked was for any time a wrestler was supposedly suffering internal bleeding as that was done using a blood pack hidden away between their cheek and teeth

Occasionally real bleeds, or hard ways as they are known, happen due to head on collisions like in football or legit punches when they are meant to be pulled

yeah, it's termed "blading".

I don't miss blading though

Why can't WWE come up with some fake blood to use in matches? Surely technology has moved along that they could convincingly do that?

Over the past couple of years they've stopped matches when wrestlers have been bleeding the hard way and had them cleaned up before they allow the match to continue.

I recall it happening to Cody Rhodes over the past 12 months.

They pretty much just save blood for special moments, even if it isn't completely planned i.e Brock Lesnar having the brawl with Triple H.

Yep 2004's Judgement Day, Eddie Guerrero bled so hard in that match that he needed a transfusion. Think it ranked very high on the Muta scale in terms of blade job

I have a hard time believing wrestling since they lied that Hacksaw Jim Duggan actually married a piece of wood mate.
