You don't seriously believe that he's not got any power do you? The guy is the chosen one to take control of wwe once Vince is done. He may not have official power but he's one of the voices wispering bull**** to vince. Sorry but I've got nothing positive about Triple H (with the exception of the return of the tag team division, which I have to credit him for), the guy is just another snake that Vince foolishley liisten's to.
Stephanie runs the creative teams.
HHH's major influence thus far has been in developmental, which is a zillion times better than what it was just a few years ago. It was his influence that led to a change in mindset of who to sign, leading to ROH & other U.S. indys getting raided for the likes of Sami Zayn (Generico), and soon to be Sami Callahan and Mike Bennett. He also convinced Vince to spend actual money on developmental, when for years they barely spent a penny on developing new talent. HHH also achieved the impossible in convincing Bruno Sammartino to make up with Vince after a 25 year plus feud, plus HHH also convinced Vince to donate money to Chris Nowinski's Sports Legacy Institute investigating concussions and brain injuries - after years of WWE snubbing the research because SLI blamed the Benoit tragedies on WWE ignoring that he had a concussion. HHH is in charge of the NXT tv show, and is apparently the only one in the upper management who values Jim Ross' contributions. One of the first things HHH did was get Ross back, heavily involved in developmental.
HHH has actually done a hell of a lot of good behind the scenes since taking up his new responsibilities behind the scenes.
The main WWE on-screen product is the way it is right now as a result of lack of new stars coming through to create fresh match ups, which is a by-product of the terrible John Laurinitais years in charge of development. It will probably take 12-18 months before you start seeing the major fruits of HHH's new regime being reaped. Things take time.
