GOT Wrestle Fest Fan Thread

im in two minds over this

i think it was the right decision to have cena lose but im not sure putting gunther over was the best idea when he had already tapped out to jey uso at wrestlemania

if your trying to build gunther to be the next brock lesnar then dont have him tap out to jey uso of all people on the grandest stage of all

would have made more sense for them to make oba femi the next brock lesnar and have him beat up cena

now we are hearing that gunther may also retire brock lesnar and aj styles next year? why? he doesn't need to be put over again and again.

they can build whatever storyline they want with gunther but he will always get the you tapped out chants at every big event he fights in

Giving a relaxed pleased smile while tapping out doesn't really help put your opponent over in my book, but that's Cena for you Felt more like a "whatever I'm retiring anyways", instead of him showing any form of desperation to get out of the hold. I only watched the finish, but I gotta say the finish of Flair vs Michaels at WM24 was miles ahead of this.

100 percent agree....I was watching thinking "is he smiling?", then the most ridiculous tap out ever......he was basically saying I'm in no pain whatsoever but I'm gonna tap anyway....

If that was HBK, he would have been struggling, stretching his arms to reach the ropes, stretching his legs out to reach the ropes...then not been able to get close enough, grimmest is pain one last time, closed his eyes and tapped....that's story telling...I got caught, I can't get out, I'm beaten

The fans booing was farcical too...if you're a wrestling fan, you know Cena should and had to put over Gunther on his way out....

If I'm honest too, I'm not convinced Gunther was the right guy to beat Cena....we'll see in time, but can't see Gunther being a Top Top guy (or wwe fully running with him)....Gunther losing to Jey was daft for example....

Breakker would have been a better call for me....have him spear the hell out of Cena and pin him clean

Cena needed to pass the torch to the 'next big thing'....I like Gunther alot, but I don't think he's the next big thing.....

Maybe Breakker is, maybe Oba is....

The next big thing is a guy with skills on the mic with fighting believability...Gunther is old school....can WWE make him interesting to the casual viewer in this era?....I don't think so

I like Gunther. But I also don't like Gunther!

I like his character and he is a great heel. But the submission finishes are rubbish. He was much better with his big power bomb and pin!

I don't know why they would get him to retire Brock or AJ. I think Breaker should fight Brock..

For me, the ending was perfect.

It was like Cena realised that however many times he escaped, or almost escaped the sleeper, Gunther was just going to put it back on, and as it went on he realised that was ultimately nothing the could to to prevent it. He just didn't have it anymore, and he tapped out on his own terms, at peace with that realisation, hence the little smile.

The video package after the match, and his exit, were all great.

No complaints from me at all.

I hope they build Gunther into a real "final boss" type character now.

I get that, and agree like 90%.....my one issue was, he didn't actually sell the sleeper...he didn't look like he was choking, fading, or in any pain...

My best mate lives in Manchester and went, had an ace time.

He said it was like 4.5 hours, but didn't feel anything like as long as it actually was, although the crowd had thinned out amd was losing energy a bit by the end.

Yeah, it was long. We had to shoot off just after 10 so we could make the last train back to town. Otherwise would have been stuck/spending massive on a taxi.

My mate stayed and said it finished at 11:15 or so. Started at half 6!

The heat Gunther got on Raw was amazing.

Wrestlers can go their entire careers and not get that reception and you rarely hear that noise at shows since the Attitude era ended

Was a great night for him....the follow up between now and Wrestlemania will be interesting to see where Gunther fits into the Main event scene...

If Dom did get a shoulder injury. You can probably see why with that landing. He has been one of the best Heel's in WWE ever since his turn
