cena v gunther confirmed as cena's final match

quelle suprise
I've thought that was the wrong match ever since it was bascially announced on websites since October. Rather have it so an up and comer or someone that's not used to much gets a big push if they won v Cena. Cena it seems is back on Raw in April as well

I'm fine with it. Big Walter's matches are almost always of a high standard. He retired Goldberg. Retiring Cena cements him as a top heel. Hopefully makes him tap out.

Just sucks that it's been an open secret for so long, and has made it difficult to be arsed about the "Cena's last opponent" tournament.

Really enjoyed SNME.

Decent matches, good showcase for the NXT talent. Never been a great John Cena guy, but the tribute reel before the match with Gunther was actually quite touching.

Gunther is just fkn great. Such a fantastic bad guy. Never resorts to cheap shitheel tactics. Nobody interferes in his matches. He's just a bad SOB who gets proper heel heat.

Is it a change in direction for the WWE?

Michael Cole made the point that professional wrestling just beat sports entertainment at the end of the Cena match. Is this something new for WWE?

Giving a relaxed pleased smile while tapping out doesn't really help put your opponent over in my book, but that's Cena for you Felt more like a "whatever I'm retiring anyways", instead of him showing any form of desperation to get out of the hold. I only watched the finish, but I gotta say the finish of Flair vs Michaels at WM24 was miles ahead of this.
