Undertaker did some pretty awesome promos as the American badass character and was even better with the whole "you will respect the Undertaker" gimmick. His ring work was also good enough to help him get away with his faults and he had and character who didn't need promos. When Reigns delivers one hundredth of the amazing work Undertaker has delivered I'll forgive Reigns for his poor mic skills. You can't get away with not being good on the mic if your not good in the ring and vice versa. It's not the 1980's anymore and nobody wants another Ultimate Warrior again.

I loved Booger Red/Deadman Inc Taker. My favourite version of Taker, he was just such a narky old git.

Are Reigns mic skills really that bad or is a lot of it down to horrendous script writing for him? He seems to be a pretty likeable and eloquent person when doing normal interviews, just let him go with his own stuff.

As for Ambrose as soon as I hard his rebound clothesline getting called the "Whackyline" by Michael Cole I gave up all hope on him. He was supposed to be unhinged and dangerous, not a goof doing fart jokes or whatever.

Whilst on that subject, they can bugger off with the little disclaimers at the start of Raw and Smackdown this week about bizarro world and "having fun" etc. They just love to suck the life out of things at times.

Yeah I agree with some of that ....but i would say i think Reigns has improved lot in ring.... I really enjoyed his Wrestlemania match with Lesnar, and also matches he's hadn't with AJ and Owens.... Even his match with Strowman was decent..... Work in progress yes, but I think so far he's been let down by Vince more so than he has sucked at his job...

They're not THAT bad but they simply aren't good enough for the top face of the company which is what he's being pushed as. If they'd of built him properly and given him time to evolve then he'd be fine. Again it's not Reigns himself I have a problem with, it's how he's been used and the speed he's been pushed when he isn't ready for it.

Agree with with all your points here. Taker was brilliant like that and heel biker Taker is my favourite version of his character.

Ambrose has been wrecked but imo he's the victim of bad storytelling and booking.

But that's exactly what I'm saying. He COULD be a great top face but he's been pushed far to fast and pushed really badly with a ultra cool guy superman stick which is hard get behind for a straight up face. I blame Vince for Reigns and any struggles he faces. Because he wasn't ready for this push, a couple of years from now maybe but definitely not now.

The thing is, the fans wanted Reigns....in the shield he became the cool one, and at Royal Rumble 3 years ago, the crowd were right behind Reigns.... So Vince pushed him early because they had f all young main eventers.... Then the fans turned on Reigns (mostly because he wasn't Daniel Bryan)....

This isn't the first time Green talent has been given a massive push... Goldberg being the best example, his gimmick probably would backfire with today's wrestling audience....as would Hulkamania...

They stayed against him because of the way he was pushed. Nobody minded him getting a push but the way it was done was terrible. I disagree that a Goldberg style push for somebody would flop these days, I think it's one of the best ways WWE could build the next massive star. WCW didn't make a big deal out of Goldberg at first and let the fans pick up on his winning streak before some dumbass commentator rammed it down everyone's throat and spoiled the effect. The reason it would never work today is WWE wouldn't have the patience to build it up properly. Hulk Hogans gimmick does work today, John Cena is the modern day Hogan. Sure it's been jazzed up and made modern and relevant but it's basically the same thing.

Yeah fair points

Does anyone else get annoyed by the way they pronounce Zayn's "Helluva Kick"? They (Cole) say helloova which is surely completely wrong

It bothered me more when the guy who had beat Universal champ Owens and former world champion Jericho, was then told he didn't belong in the ring with Braun Strowman as it was too dangerous for him....

It has always been that even before Zayn was in WWE. I think it is just supposed to sound foreign-ish. May be something to do with his roots.

Also latest leaks from 'somewhere' on the shake up thing:

Reigns to stay on Raw - AJ to Raw - New Day to Smackdown - it will go over two nights
