Thanks if you can find that link. I'm interested in diet. As I say I like to keep it as simple as possible, just meet my macros. Until I stop losing weight I'll stay as I'm doing.

I cheat about once a week, but when I say cheat, I don't go crazy with it like some people like to. When I say cheat, instead of consuming 1800 I'll consume around 2500 or just above. It's usually just one cheat meal as opposed to a cheat day. I'm not in a big rush to lose weight so it's not too bad for me, I want to lose about 3 or 4 more lbs by 1st August.

What's your view on protein intake when cutting to minimise muscle mass/strength loss. I see a lot of people saying you should hammer the protein when cutting. Currently I'm consuming just under 1g per lb of bodyweight. I weigh 147lbs and consuming around 120-130g of protein a day, but anyway I certainly haven't lost any strength or any noticeable muscle mass. My bench has improved surprisingly. But yeah, I'm just scared in case I do begin to lose muscle mass.

Your body isn't as catabolic as you might think. Try and eat fish or meats as part of your regular diet and you should be fine. If you want to cut up while gaining muscle, you'd need a totally different diet though. Generally speaking if you're on a low cal diet, you can forget about weight gain. The only way around this is to manipulate how your body facilitates weight loss, there are a number of ways to do that.

I don't know what your height is, but if you only weigh 147lbs it shouldn't be overly hard to lose the body fat you want (4 lbs), and gain some muscle by the beginning of july.

Oh yeah. I'm not really looking to gain any muscle mass whilst cutting, I just don't want to lose any is all. I'm only cutting up for my holiday in August, ha. Will probably go on a slow bulk diet over winter to gain some muscle mass, or just eat at maintenance level, undecided yet. Would like to bulk but scared of that excess fat haha.

I'm 5"8 by the way so my weight is pretty average, but yeah it should be pretty easy to lose as you say. I have absolutely zero cardio in my gym routine though, I hate cardio with a passion.

You don't need cardio, it can help but ultimately unnecessary. And genuinely, you don't need to compartmentalise at your current bw, you can do both.

I'll PM you, any questions let me know. Hell you could probably lose that just by changing your weights routine and burning extra calories that way

Got a pair of them gloves today to do weights so my hands don't kill... Bloody hell, they make some difference

Not one to use gloves, however I do use these things called versa grips! They are awesome! Only use them for deadlifts/rack pulls and heavy shrugs though

I would have said that a couple of years ago but I forgot them the other day and hated it. They just work for me, better grip and control. Not arsed about the callouses like. The wrist support used to be handy years ago too.

This is why chalk was invented..... Your hands are perfect, right up until you put a pair of gloves on them
