I've been going to the gym alone for as long as I can remember now, but it is good to have someone to go with. A good gym buddy doesn't let you slack off! I've got a mate who lives on my road who goes to it too but we go at different times and he's at least 30% stronger than me in all areas!

Exactly mate! Tend to get distracted on my phone etc when i'm alone. What time do you normally go?

At the moment whilst I'm not working during the day but in a couple of weeks I'll be working again so it'll be evenings when it's rammed. Not particularly looking forward to that. What about you? Ha, I've had a rubbish phone for ages so it presents no distraction whatsoever, which helps a bit.

Evenings mate after work except wed and fri i work the late so normally go about 9/10 before work.

Haha it is really busy between 5-8 especially early on in the week, so I tend to wait until 7:30/8ish before i go.

Rubbish social ? I take it you've never been golfing with the lads and threw a crate in the back of your golf cart

Lots of standing around ? Time to actually drink some of that crate.

You're doing it wrong mate

Plus, you can make that classic joke every time you walk down the 18th.

Person 1: "So are we going to the 19th after this for a bit? Ahahaha"

Person 2: "What's the 19th hole?"

Person 1: "You're the 19th hole mate, ahahahahaha!"

Person 1 and 2: "WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!!!!! AHAHAHAHAAHA!!!!!!"

At least there's loads of equipment in there so you can always work your way around not being able to use bits of equipment and things. It just gets a bit sweaty when it's busy!

Had a good leg session before, I'm not in quite as much pain as I was last week but I did more and at slightly heavier weights. Good stuff. There were also a few bangable girls in there today, always helps you push out those last couple of reps.

It's psychological, apparently there's a side to our brain that releases chemicals when around girls thus helping us train a bit harder.

Got a football match next Saturday, first game I'm gonna play for over ten years. Want to get in as much practice as I can, got a ball an I just kick it around sometimes or go for little runs to get my fitness back. How long before I get my skill back?

Well. You say that. I read some research last week looking at animal research. You know, the kind where they poke an animal with something and detect how much pain it experiences. There is apparently quite a sophisticated methodology involved in detecting pain levels in animals, from facial expressions and all sorts.

Anyway, the point is, they found that the animals showed much fewer signs of pain when a male was present than when a female was. This could be a male scientist doing the experiment, a male animal in the room, even the scent of male sweat.

They didn't say if anything similar was evident in humans of course, but who knows.

Interesting theory.
