Hows Joey Barton been going in Div 1? He's cheap as they come, could have a good return for the Toon if he stays outa the cells
Its a punt and no mistake its one im muling over, on one hand you have someone who has scored points in the past on the other you have injuries, suspension and general Joey Bartoness - not to mention Newcastle could be rubbish.

The one I've been looking at is Routledge (only 4.5) - with them having those big lumps for strikers, figure that a fair few assists might come from crosses...
Did well for them in the 6 months he's been there - 3 goals & 4 assists in 17 games.
There are a few mate who look tempting from the Newcastle end, but their all a punt, Routlage, Barton, Nolan, Carrol and Ameobi.
Ameobi is very well priced and i would say likely to get games, if he touched on 100 points could be worth a punt to stregthen other areas.
I'd like the code please.

Not a fan mate, prob better value in that price bracket, he didnt shine the last time in the prem but i think all Newcastle players are a bit of a punt this season.

How important do people class their defence / keepers? Not asking you to reveal players but just curious as to whether people have focused on them? I've spent:
Keepers: 9
Defence: 26.5
Keepers: 9
Defence: 26.5
It all depends mate, what formation you want to play 3 -4-3, 4-4-2 - etc at the back. There is little point in having 5 some would say 4 expensive defenders if you will only play with three or four it all depends on which formation you think will get you the most points. Traditionaly Midfeilders and Strikers accumalate more points then defenders. Personaly i think some of the priceing of defenders this year is very high.
As for keepers, you can only play one, some prefer one very good one who will be the mainstay and another cheap option, some try to have keepers of equal quality so they can rotate depending on the fixture - personaly as you can only play with one i prefer not to leave money sitting on the bench.
Personaly i made one or two top purchases in defence and some players i think could be gems spent and spent a fewmillion less its all a punt but youl have to have at least 4 or five players in your team you take a punt on.
As for keepers i spent less again but not much!

Yeah I play 3-4-3, I've got 3 decent defenders and a good 4.5 keeper, not breakin the bank like. Did really well last year I was just curious as to what other people focus on...

Drogba is out of my team at the moment, need more news on this injury though.
How long is Cech out for as well, and who will start out of Hilario and Turnbull?

He's out for a month, but whether thats from the time of the injury or from the start of the season I don't know. Either way I think it might jeopardise having a Chelsea defender in the squad now without a reliable keeper.
