The spirit of the Blues will live on in our great club's new home on the waterfront.

Yes it is the fans that make the club not the stadium although that helps.

Very poignant words from Gary Neville. Goodison's character will be missed. But it is we, the Everton faithful, that make our stadium loud and intimidating for opposition players. And we will do so at Bramley-Moore, only in even greater number.

Like everyone else, I have a lot of sad and joyous memories from my time going to Goodison Park. One of the strange things for me though, is how it marked the passing of time; I went from being taken to matches by my Dad when I was a child, to taking my Dad to matches when he got old.

I loved being back on Saturday, for about 25 minutes anyway.

So may memories, good and bad, mostly good just about, just a massive part of my life. Hopefully Saturday was a blip and we get loads more good memories for her send off.

I Was thinking of my pop on sat, whilst being with my two kids and mates in the TB, just wondering what he would make of our current team and some of the players, our ongoing financial situation and of our new glorious ground and the end of Goodison, and found I really, really missed him.

Goodison ties me to him so much, so I’m really, really gonna miss her too.
