Only a few players ever really 'get' Everton, Tim is most definitely one of them.

Absolute pro, gent, and its been a pleasure to watch him over the years.

I almost feel bad saying it but I'd rather he went now than started to unravel his legacy. Would hate to hear younger blues who didn't really follow us when he first joined (not that I'm an old head myself) **** him off.

as if he is going to take his kids to grow up in dubai, have you seen the education system there, even in private schools is brutal

The man is a legend of Everton, he is Australia's biggest ever player and has inspired thousands of kids to take an interest in football, not just that but he's funding proper coaching and facilities over in Aus to give the kids a great opportunity to become potential future stars of the game. Besides that though, he gets Everton and like others have said he's always given 100% to the club and clealy understands and loves what our boss club is about, loads of Australian kids will be dreaming of being the next Cahill and i'm sure we've got a few young supporters over there thanks to this man.

I've grew up watching him smash cornerflags and i wish him the best of luck in the future.

Be sad to see him leave more on the nostalgia side of his past exploits than on what he currently seems to offer as a player.

Always been impressed buy him in his interviews and how highly he speaks of the club and staff and his respect for the fans.

The picture of him on top of the pile after carsley scored in the derby (sorry im too new to know how to upload a picture yet!) will forever be etched into my memory

If this is true I want him to play in at least one of the home friendlys when we know he's going so we can give him the send off he deserves.

I'm not his greatest fan for being a regular first team choice, but how can we expect to build up a decent squad if a player like him goes? The wage bill at Everton is probably the reason: because the club is run like a whelk stall with zero lines of revenue coming in above and beyone the gimmes of ST and tv revenue the manager is forced to get rid of experience like Cahill and just replace.

This club is fcuked as a competitive organisation. We're just running to stand still.

So bar someone's uncle staying with Tim's parents we have no other source to back up that he is indeed leaving the club ?

Behave Dave; Cahill is far from the man he was a couple of years ago. Like many I would rather him leave now and on a high as a legend than see him struggle for form and become a pin-up for the boo boys.

You cannot blame everything on the board of directors. I'm sure if news got announced tomorrow that Everton were offering Cahill a new 3 year contract you'd be first to post how incompetent the board, and kenwright are, for offering a 32 year old a new contract and spending money that should be invested into new blood. The board are damned if they do and damned if they don't in your eyes.

He's not leaving! we're gonna believe someone who comes on a forum and says his uncle's sleeping with Cahill's mother? WTF!?
